Chelsea v Man Utd (LC) Wed 30th Oct 20:05 GMT

I think this is a really difficult squad for Frank to pick. He will want to take a few young players out to rest them but with youth there's always the worry you break there momentum by resting them, and the break could be worse for them. But it's also an opportunity to bring in some of the other young uns, again though too many playing at once won't really help there development, they need to be playing alongside senior players in games.

Paul Tierney will officiate the match. His assistants will be Ian Hussin and Harry Lennard while Stuart Attwell will be the fourth official.

Tierney has taken charge of seven Premier League games so far this season, showing 22 yellow and 0 red cards. He has officiated a Chelsea game this season, the 4-1 victory over Southampton in the Premier League.

VAR won’t be used.

Lets get ready to RRRRRRRRRRRRRRUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMBLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLE!

P.S. It's straight to penalties yeh?

be happy that Herrera (aka Spanish Roy Keane) isn't a dirty red manc any longer - he enjoyed taking chucks out of our players

isnt he mexican?

Rest some of our players who have played a lot already this season and play some of the under-used players.

Still think we should have a Jorg-Kova midfield, but might have to rest Jorg for someone else like Gilmour maybe?

CHO should start and so should Reece James. Not sure who else is fit to play atm, will need to wait until the evening to find out more

Getting progressively more nervous now. They'll probably go with James, Rashford and Martial up front and i see it causing us problems.

I think there will be a lot of goals in this game.

I hope not, I want us to go for the win here.

We will be going for the win, whilst not taking our eye off the main event Saturday. Were on a good run in the league, four on the trot, i think we can keep that going if we manage the players properly. Would be nice to win a trophy, but not at the cost of exhausting our squad and tumbling down the table.

Kepa

James, Zouma, Tomori, Alonso

Jorge, Kovacic

Pedro, Pulisic, CHO

Batshuayi

Subs; Gilmore, Guehi, Abraham, Willian, Mount, Emerson, Barklay.

I'm not entirely sure about putting James in as Utd could start with Martial, James and Rashford and they played well against Norwich at the weekend. Could be a high scoring game and I can't see us not conceding.

Utd's record on penalties if awful. They missed two at the weekend and plenty before as well.

tend to agree with that line up... with regard to James. assuming he is fit his extra pace will help as it is no a definite weakness for Dave

Frank hinted at a bit of rotation in yesterday's press conference. Even though we always want to beat United, and it would be good to make further progress in the Cup, I definitely think some of the first team regulars should be rested. We have a busy fixture schedule in the weeks ahead.  Hoping to see Emerson back, and would always welcome some more minutes for Guehi, Gilmour, James. If Tammy is rested I would like to see us start Bats with Pulisic as they seem to work well together.

I want to see Gilmour. Just totally dominate the midfield again

I want to see Gilmour and Pulisic on the field together. I think this could be a very dynamic attacking duo in midfield.

Looking forward to see more of Gilmour and what he can bring to the first team

Watford away in the Prem on the weekend & next Tuesday Ajax at home in CL. Those two games are imo slightly more of a priority so rotation is needed, lets face it baby face A is gonna target a trophy to boost his standing at Manure and the EFL cup qtr finals await the winner, so he may be putting out an experienced/ strong side. Either way it will be a good test for the prospects today and whatever senior players get picked.

Regardless of what we think about the league cup beating them tonight will be pleasant feeling. Our squad is better than theirs and Frank can rotate the squad tonight without necessarily weakening the team too much.

I hope we stuff them. I remember them in the FA cup last year and how cocky they were. Call me bitter.

Come on Chelsea let’s smash em.
