November 1, 20195 yr Apparently the Ajax fans have been banned by UEFA from attending the match, any idea why?
November 1, 20195 yr Author UEFA has banned Ajax fans from the Champions League game against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on November 5 following crowd trouble in their fixture at Valencia. The ban comes following a suspended sentence imposed after Ajax's Champions League game against Benfica last season.  Ajax were also handed a fine of €50,000 (£43,200) for the disturbances, and warned a further one-match ban could be imposed on selling tickets to their away supporters if they offend during a probationary period of one year;  An additional fine of €18,000 (£15,500) was also handed to the Dutch side for 'improper conduct of the team'. Ajax have requested additional information from UEFA and have the right to lodge an appeal against the sanctions.
November 2, 20195 yr Got an email message from the club about increased security measures to keep out Ajax supporters, identity checks for instance. I expect my Dutch passport will raise some eyebrows... better keep my confirmation for the vip arrangement handy Edited November 2, 20195 yr by Valerie

November 3, 20195 yr Will be an interesting game considering the fact that Ajax fans won't be able to influence the referee like they succesfully did in Amsterdam. Winning this one would be huge. Draw is OK but then we'll probably have to get something in Valencia.
November 3, 20195 yr It’s going to be a weird atmosphere in the bridge with no away fans. Probably won’t be one.Â

November 4, 20195 yr In the context of how the group works a draw is a decent result here. Try to win obviously but not a disaster if we draw.  Kepa  Azpi Zouma Tomori  James Jorginho Kovacic Emerson  Pulisic  Batman

Maybe they will continue to have stewards on the aisles that separate the visiting fans just in case those empty seats get unruly ?
November 4, 20195 yr This is a big match and hope the crowd can really get behind Frank and the lads! A win Tuesday and we should be in great shape to make it out of the Group Stage. Anything other than all three points gets tricky. For simplicity, let’s assume everyone beats Lille in their second leg match up. If we win Tuesday, we only need to beat Lille to make the Knockout Round. OR draw tomorrow and draw or win at Valencia (and beat Lille of course) and we are through. Easiest path is probably just win tomorrow night! Come on you Chelsea!!
November 4, 20195 yr  Frank said Kante might be back for this one. He will hopefully therefor also be right play against palace on the weekend. James might be a good choice in this game, also maybe CHO because I think CHO needs a few more minutes now and Ajax are the kind of opposition he might fancy. james zouma tomori alonso kante Jorginho kova willian abraham hudson odoi

My impression from Frank's presser on Friday is Kante will be a 50/50 chance of playing against Ajax, but is highly likely to play against Crystal Palace provided there's no further setbacks.
November 4, 20195 yr Rest Kante against Ajax. Maybe bring him on for the last 15. We need him for Palace as Jorginho is suspended.
November 4, 20195 yr Home form hasn't been great this season, to be honest I'm a bit concerned about this game and palace game ahead. Hopefully Ajax will play their brand of football and leave some space behind for him, we had issues breaking down against teams park the bus here. The team pick itself, won't risk Kante to start
November 4, 20195 yr  Finally some good news, we need midfield re-enforcements. Probably makes sense to start Jorginho vs Ajax since he's suspended for the league game on Saturday anyway. Kovacic may be used as a sub or rested, depending on how the game goes.
November 4, 20195 yr Positive news ahead of this one: 1) Emerson is back. There's usually a lot of balance in our back four with Emerson at leftback. At the weekend, our back four looked so very good and tidy. 2) The competition of James with Dave has really developed Dave, and Dave played his best Chelsea game since he joined us many seasons ago in the match against Ajax two weeks ago. It shows that competition is very good. James should keep up the work he is doing. He makes the team really balance when he is playing, Against Lille, he tackled a goal-bound move from Lille, he got a yellow card, that was his first game for Chelsea (apart from Carabao cup), and some ignorant chelsea fans thought collecting a yellow card means he is not good. does collecting a yellow card mean a player is not good? Some Chelsea fans now, think James is not good, meanwhile everybody at Chelsea knows how good the guy is, and Dave knows how good the guy is too, and it has pushed him to improve his game. 3) Pulisic is a good news for us. He was the difference again at the weekend between getting one point and getting the three points that we got from the game. He could be the difference again against Ajax tommorrow. 4) Willian is very important to the team. He made the difference against Lille, he can make the difference tommorrow. 5) Mason Mount is actually very good. Imagine the save that Foster made at the weekend, the one that hit the crossbar. I hope Mount has a great game tommorrow. He can score the winner for us tommorrow. I was so impressed to see him selected for the press conference today ahead of tommorrow's game. Great player. Agreed, we need him for Palace, we need to keep our good run in the league going with some of our rivals dropping points right, left and center, build up a nice cushion. End of the day we should not count Lille out against Valencia, they are a good counter attacking team which may play well for them away from home.  Besides Jorginho and Kova have been excellent and I back them to be so again against Ajax.  Worse case scenario we lose this and Valencia win, table would look like  Ajax - 9 Valencia - 7 Chelsea - 6 Lille - 1  Win at Valencia, and our away form is excellent, and we are left with a home game with Lilly while Valenica go to Ajax. Still leaves it all in our hands.  Medium case scenarios, either we lose or draw and Valenica don't win:  Ajax - 9/7 Chelsea - 6/7 Valencia - 5/4 Lille - 2/4  Now a draw in Spain is a good result.  Obviously a win would be huge and we should aim for it, but I really do not wish Kante rushed back and injured AGAIN. We need him against Palace, we need him against City. We can afford a negative result against Ajax and still be in control of our own fate, and nothing to say we cannot beat them without Kante, again.
November 4, 20195 yr Would be excellent to repeat what we did in Amsterdam. Our form is good enough to repeat it.I would start with Pulisic-Bats duo. Would love to see Bats succeed starting a game.
November 4, 20195 yr Important to get the 3 points here. Also I wouldn’t be surprised to see some rotation here in a some areas. i would go with kepa azbi zouma tomori alonso kova jorginho Barkley willian Abraham CHO bring on kante for the last 20 mins as We will need him for palace Â
