October 30, 20214 yr Epic real-time strategy, start Ziyech, do a magic trick and get him out of the pitch = score goal and win
October 30, 20214 yr Nothing he tries ever comes off. So at what point do you stop thinking that he's unlucky and start saying he makes bad choices and bad crosses/passes/shots. Consistently underwhelming.

No more excuses.. shouldn’t start anymore needs to buy minutes thru performances as a sub for me now.

November 2, 20214 yr I'm not his biggest fan, but I think he wasn't bad tonight even if you take away his goal.

November 2, 20214 yr Did ok tonight, important goal, but like the end of last season, had some big assists and goals. Despite not having a decent run in the team.
November 2, 20214 yr People under estimate Ziyechs intelligence in that goal from the Callum pass. Ziyech ran laterally which ensured he stayed onside to tap it in. Not to insult Werner but i know he would have just run straight and offside by the time Odoi passed it

The one big miss was the previous game when he couldn't keep the ball down but I think that he's mostly clinical, when he shoots from around or inside the box he scores, his goal that was offside in the previous game was a great finish.

This^ I think people need to stop looking at Ziyech as being brought in just to create goals and Werner as a pure goal scorer and see what they can do well atm rather than what has been lacking. I don't know what's in the Cobham water but it seems like these two have switched abilities, Hakim is the clinical finisher and Timo is a creative hub. It's clear Hakim has at least another gear or two and I don't want to see him leave until we get his very best or at least close to it. I don’t buy the argument he's not good enough for this level the stats for the 18/19 Ajax UCL run suggests he was one of the best attacking players in the whole tournament. Ziyech outperformed some huge names that season and if he can do it on the UCL stage he should be capable of doing it anywhere. His issue will always be consistency, what seems to happen to him is that he will build up some form and then get injured. Like Christian he suffers from this interruption to his momentum perhaps not quite to the level of Pulisic but the point remains the same. He's also one of the few players in the squad that actually takes risks when in possession he tries to dribble past the defender not always successfully but it beats side to side passing nonstop. More importantly he takes risks with his passes and actually looks to play people in behind with over the top balls and threaded through balls. This is sorely lacking from the majority of the squads toolbox
November 2, 20214 yr Nobody doubts that Ziyech has talent, he's probably got more natural talent than the majority of our squad, but he lacks in areas that are just as important. He plays a lot of careless passes, passes that aren't on that just wastes possession. He losses the ball easily and gives the ball away under pressure and his overall commitment is lacking at times. He looks and plays in a disinterested way, that is why people get on his back.

He's a great talent and can be important for us but he's not the same after the injury and is slowly building himself back now. He did score some important goals last season I still rate him ahead of Werner & Pulisic though. I think he could be a crucial player with Lukaku.
November 3, 20214 yr His energy levels and work rate have been so so good during the last 2 games. Can't really fault his effort. And his end product has improved recently so hope to see him play to his potential soon. If nothing else, he has a real eye for goal that can make the difference in big/tight games.
November 6, 20214 yr Not my favourite player or even close yet with our injuries he has stepped up and worked hard, scoring one and coming close too. It is good we have him though whether he stays in the first 11 are all fit is doubtful.

November 20, 20214 yr Need more of that from Ziyech. Playing in the right areas instead of showing off and not looking like he gave a damn.
November 20, 20214 yr I always thought he is our best passer and finally he got a fast assist. I think he's finding his place in this system.
November 20, 20214 yr I like him when he stays more on the right ... think that's his best position. Nice to see him get a quick assist today as well. He gets slated for his low goals/assists contribution but Jadon Sancho would kill for even half of Ziyech's output right now LOL
