Doubt it happens. Based on his interviews and demeanour, he seems to be one of the rising leaders in our squad and actually gives his all in our games. Wouldn't be surprised if he becomes assistant captain or third in line once azpi and silva retire/leave.

Clubs don't really spend huge money on wages for full backs ... even the likes of City and United.

Yea this should work to our advantage, his reported wages raised a few eyebrows at the time but it’s certainly been justified now.

Can't see City bidding over £40m for a player with 2 years left on his deal and an injury record like Ben has

I think the new owners are so ruthless in a business sense that if Chilwell indicates in the summer that he doesn't want to sign a new contract and wants to go to City they will sell him there. Convinced of that actually.

Same with Mount, they'll sell him to Liverpool if they offer a good amount for him. Imagine players like Chalobah, Gallagher and others will be up for sale as well.

According to David Ornstein in the athletic he is on the verge of signing a new deal with us.

We have long poked fun at Kane for picking to sign that stupid deal and costing him winners medals.

Ben is one of the best in the business, so is Enzo and Reece. If we don't pick up quickly either these lads fall in to the Kane and Shearer trap or they demand moves to teams that will win trophies.

I would have laughed off such links under Roman as he did not tolerate us failing for too long. With these owners I do have faith in that to happen.

I'm not insulting you, I just find your reasoning that we are going to be selling our best assets truly annoying. Particularly when you keep posting about it. 

In no world do we sell James or Enzo this summer. Chilwell getting an extension this summer also solidifies our desire to keep him, yet you again are blowing the tune of we want to sell him.

Not that we desire to sell them, not now not in years to come, clearly what we want is to become the best around, that is what Todd stated, that after all will help return the best amount of cash on their investment.

What does Enzo have to do with anything? He's proper and fully dedicated and good, after winning the World Cup he got the confidence to say to himself that he's decent enough to come to the best club.

Almost as if not everything we are told is true. 

But also, 4 years for Ben takes him to 30. 6 years for Mount takes him to 30. 

Ben coming back into fitness is the only bright spark in an otherwise dark and dismal season.

So expect him to be injured again soon.

Great news. Chilwell is a superb player, and is one of the few in the squad we couldn't realistically upgrade upon. In addition to that, he is one of the very few whose performances this season have lived up to his ability level. Other than Thiago Silva, he is really the only one from that insane summer 2020 transfer window who has been an unqualified success.

Very good news. Hopefully he's turned a corner medically now as well !

He’s been our best player this season…and he was out October to February!
