At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I do believe Mudryk is better off with Colwill/Cucurella on that left hand side than Chilwell.
September 29, 20232 yr Seems like another long term injury. Wouldn’t be opposed to selling him to be honest , constantly injured and inconsistent when he’s fit.

September 29, 20232 yr When he does have a spell of good form, he'll get injured again. Having an inflated squad may be the only way to mitigate these injuries. There's no other way.

We have arguably the best right and left backs in the league, and I'd still possibly sell them in the summer if we get offers. It's heartbreaking to realize they will never be dependable with their fitness issues. Agree with Reece James. Always felt Chilwell's been massively overated by our supporters due to being injured a lot and at the same time as Reece and Kante so people grouped him in with those two as injured world class players despite Ben never being near that level Edited September 29, 20232 yr by Whats_The_Mata?
September 29, 20232 yr Quote Initial assessments have taken place and Pochettino said: ‘I think it is bad news from what the doctor told me. ‘It is not a good thing. It looks a bad injury but we need to assess in the next few days and we will see the period he will be out.
September 29, 20232 yr Tbh I’m sick and tired of him and James being injured constantly I would object to selling them both though I understand some would object to this especially James to make them captain and vice captain looks like a mad decision now.

It's doing my head in, every season them two are missing for half of it, what's even the point?
September 29, 20232 yr The wider conversation should be why they keep getting injured as this is not a coincidence.

Unlucky or not this f**king disaster needs to stop. See, can't even win a game of football anymore without more bad news following it, and people wonder why it's so negative around here. There isn't a single bit of positivity that can happen without some negativity to follow immediately after.

I bet if we were to sell Chilwell, he would find himself barely picking up injuries again, just like everybody else that seems to leave this club. Even sicknote Pulisic hasn't picked up an injury yet, and look at Kante. We all thought Kante was finished, but he is yet to pick up an injuries since leaving. Kovacic, he's been at City for 3 months now and hasn't picked up an injury yet. None of these players could stay fit for more than a few games with us and now they seem to be fine.

This is my sentiments too sell Chilwill and he plays every game for his new club, something is wrong at cobham and it’s needs to be fixed this is not normal.
September 29, 20232 yr Hard to gauge what is causing the injuries. James and chillwell’s injury issues have spanned over numerous coaching teams and pre dated the new owners. I believe boehly and co sacked all the previous doctors and physios etc so im not sure it’s possible that all the coaches and medical teams are to blame, seems unlikely two different medical teams and 3-4 different coaching staffs are all inept.
September 29, 20232 yr The news reported that the "former Tottenham manager" said: "Why did we not sign another Ben Chilwell and another Reece James? Because there's only one Reece James and one Ben Chilwell. "If you have in the squad one top player in one position, it's difficult to bring in another one in the same position to sit on the bench. It's about balance." lol There was a poodle headed player who plays at Left back looking a little crestfallen when he said that. £60 million Top Player.

He's missed a couple of games for City already, been injured since the international break, though he seems to be back now. Iirc Pulisic has been fit since Potter got sacked, he just didn't get to play at all under Frank. But yeah, I do agree something must be done in the medical department, not sure what, but we must take a closer look at what's been going on.

October 3, 20232 yr Hamstring problem again and again, he should never play more than 60 min pr match. His body cant handle more

Madness. Enough if enough his is made of glass. We need to sell him and take whatever small fee we can to get him off the books.
October 3, 20232 yr Should have sold him to City when the chance came up, not worth having him around with his injury record. Not to mention hes just not very good as a LB
October 4, 20232 yr Hammies are the go. CP's Eze and Olisse are both out for a couple of months with hammies, Olisse's a recurrence. Interesting reading from analyticsfc.co.uk, including that an initial hammy injury places players at a high risk of a recurrence: Hamstring Injuries are the most common in top flight football. Nothing else comes close in terms of incidence rate. In the 2022/23 campaign there were 118 hamstring strains, eight hamstring surgeries and 19 incidents of tight hamstrings. This dwarfs the next most common reason for injuries: these are “knocks”, with 64 incidents, muscular injuries, with 56 incidents, and knee injuries, with 56 incidents. The reason why this muscle group is injured so often is due to the physical demands of football and human physiology. The hamstring is vitally important for the explosive power created by players but is put under a lot of strain every match. It is used in almost every movement giving thrust to players and is at most risk during sprints due to the rapid lengthening and shortening of the muscle: the hamstring reaches 110% of its length during periods of running. Fatigue plays a big factor in why these injury occur and the aforementioned tight schedule means that players are not resting enough to prevent these injuries. The problem with a hamstring injury is not just the short term time out, but it also affects players’ long term injuries too. Previous hamstring injuries place a player at a much higher risk of future injury and this season’s data is dominated by those players who have been plagued with hamstring issues.
October 4, 20232 yr Chilwell has played 5 times this season James just 1. Last season Chilwell played 22 times, James 22 too. I've noticed often their injuries overlap a bit too which is bad when you are playing wide backs not so bad in a back 4. As wide backs both were good offensively and James is arguably more dangerous in forward play. Think both will need to be careful of their hamstring health and it is a good question as to whether we should let one go to reduce the first squad injury time out.
October 4, 20232 yr The joy of having an inflated squad and a manager that isn't obsessed with wing backs in our attacking play.
