Chelsea v Everton (PL) Mon 8th Mar 2021 18:00 GMT

Didn't we play Everton March 8 2020?  I know we did because it's my birthday and I watched the match in Cancun Mexico. I have a good feeling about Monday's match.

Yea, at least they play football and do not depend on a purely destructive approach which will benefit us overall I guess. I can see a rather high scoring game coming in.

Against Southampton they scored an early goal and spent the rest of the match defending the result.

What happened to Davey Baby?

Another big test, seems like we've played 4 or 5 big games in a row with this one and Atleti still to come in the current run.

We've got a tough end to the season with Leicester, Arsenal and Man City and in our last four games so points at this stage are critical.

Interested to see how we approach James in this one. He seems to have been their catalyst all season. Could be a threat between the lines for them.

Bit of a derby game in my house this one, my father in law is an evertonian. I go round his for matches at goodison and he comes round mine for matches at the bridge. I probably wont be on her too much monday night.

This game is normally a must win game for me but there is even more at stake as they are our direct rivals for the top 4 this season

We did. It was the last game played in front of a full house at the Bridge before the first lockdown. There were rumours at the game and for a couple of weeks beforehand that football would stop or carry on without fans,

Seems strange that it's been a year since with a couple of exceptions that a full house was were allowed in the Bridge. Miss going to the Bridge but more than that miss meeting up with those I go to the games with in the pub before and after the match.

A 4-0 win like the last time we played Everton at the Bridge but as others have said it will be a tough match.

Fortunately we don‘t conceive much these days.
Got a positive feeling about the game.

Bloody hell, what kind of football have you been watching?

Sorry, no native speaker here...lol, ofc I meant ‚concede‘.

Slojo has now been banned, not sure why?

Perhaps an error?

Constantly poking people with a stick I should imagine. See above

IMO he is like the very loud bloke at the end of the bar who has an opinion on absolutely everything and never stops talking. I have been on the forum a long time, even on it is predecessor the CSR (Chelsea Supporter's Registry), and have never, ever put any other poster on ignore but I came bloody close with close with slojo. He literally dominated every thread. God alone knows where he got the time to write so many posts! It was like a full-time job!

If he really didn't agree with someone's opinion he would try to batter them into submission with a relentless deluge of posts in which he always, always had to have the final word. Even worse, you never knew where you stood with him either. He would agree with you on a subject one week only to find a few weeks later he had completely changed his view and he would then start battering away again. Glad he has gone TBH.

Bit tangential - there's a 'connected' guy who occasionally turns up in my local who is built like a golem. He's not particularly pleasant, bullies people when it pleases him, and everyone (even those who usually act 'hard') is understandably terrified of him. He doesn't usually express many opinions about football, but when he does they're very 'hard Brexit' (read: uneducated).

Usually I'm sensible enough to not bite when he comes out with his silly opinions, but just before the last World Cup he loudly suggested that Aaron Lennon should be in the England squad... thankfully I got away with it.

I have just seen that Brutos was banned too, suspect the two of them got into an over heated debate and the offending posts have been removed leaving us all to wonder why.

Yes Slojo did post a lot though I didn't follow him that much, I do note he once said he enjoyed the disagreeing.

I thought Slojo was ok, yeah he had a lot of disagreements with people and changes his mind like the British weather but he was at least respectful and had some debates.

Brutos though, he’s on a whole different level.

I thought Slojo was ok too and Brutos made some good points about the game too.

Like gol for the most part they seemed alright, offered some good insight and had good discussions, though I will admit Brutos gloating over Lamps being sacked and using the stick to have a pop at us who supported Frank and were willing to risk the season being a failure for Frank to get more time was a bit tiresome and a disrespectful to a club legend imo.

none of them should have been banned ffs

We dont know what posts may have been deleted. They could have all crossed a line and may have had complaints against them. If the ban is over a misunderstanding I am sure Mod will consider unbanning them like he did for Yorkley.

Monday night football is nearly as bad as Thursday night football and should also be illegal.

Really is disrespectful to us. No wonder Haaland is rumored to not consider us a top club, we are playing a Europa league schedule.

true, but three in a row screams trigger happy.

Well Brighton helped to make the football weekend look a little less good. They are a slightly better version of Sheff United, seriously struggle to score more than 1 goal a game.
