Chelsea v Brighton (PL) Tue 20th Apr 2021 20:00 GMT

Last comment before I put this one to bed. Brighton are a seriously tough nut to crack, and extremely well drilled in the art of wearing a better opponent down to the point of utter demoralisation. We were shxt and no excuses for that, but credit where it’s due.

Brighton were all over Mount, Mount is our chap when the chips were down. We obviously need someone else in the creative field who can also score.

We have a lot players that can score through hitting the space from a counter-attacking move though not many that can score against packed defenses.

I would have hoped for corners with Zouma getting change........

Really flat performance tonight...TT needs to realise quickly to take lower league clubs seriously...should have played CHO and Werner from the start...Pulisic agaib got kicked out of the game...TT must learn from this game and WBA and get the team right for Wet Spam...and boy do we need Kovacic back...he seems the only one capable of taking on and beating a man...

It has been a very emotionally draining few days as far as Chelsea is concerned where I thought we could be thrown out of our league.

Maybe I am just too drained to send the usual venom at the team for such an insipid and awful display. When players like Mount are that awful, our Mr. Consistant, you just know everything did mess with the players.

Mason is normally so sure on the ball with control and passing but he looked like Jorgi against West Brom.

Gonna write it off. However TT has to get things going again for West Ham and beyond.

Horrible performance and deserved what we got.  Mount was playing too deep for me and the forwards like looked awkward and flat.  If we don't up our game on Saturday it will be West Ham sitting in the pole position and not us.

I'd say we deserved less, they hit the bar and missed a sitter while we had about 2 corners and 2 shot all game.

Zouma shouldn't play for us again, he's a disaster waiting to happen but is allowed to keep coming back for some reason.

Ziyech and the Germans I just don't see it, a huge waste of money so far.

Yeah I think one has to give them a pass given that totally unforeseen rollercoaster. It clearly got to them.

Really awful performance...this is becoming a recurring theme under Tuchel in matches we should be winning

As good as we have been under Tommy, far too many bad performances against much lower ranked teams...can he tactically change a match?

Havertz up top as a false 9 is very false...fails far too many times

Why Zouma in the centre?

Mount is not a pivot player, play him where he is effective or not at all

As for Ziyech, hero to zero tonight . Our attack is very lightweight

Do we really need to play three at the back all the time?

Tommy does need to learn there are no easy matches , the points were dropped an hour before the kick off with poor team selection, not for the first time

Zouma, Jorginho and Mount all careless tonight and all 3 could have cost us to conceed.

Pulicic and Haverts both out of sorts and did little to effect game. And then there's Ziyech. Has to be our most frustrating player. I want to love the bloke and he can be a match winner / game turner. But boy when he is bad he absolutely stinks the place out and looks like he doesn't give a f**k.

After all the excitement from earlier in the day, that was such a let down and TT, as good as he has been, has to shoulder a lot of the blame.

You can sort of tell in the first 20 mins what way the night is going to play out. We seem to go against lower teams with a better than you attitude and play tippy tippy slow pace football. Start with that intensity and it’s very hard to flick a switch and move up a couple of gears when things aren’t working out.

Id like to see us going out to try and steamroller these teams with a bit of grit and determination.
May be I’m being a bit unfair to BHA who were organised and up for it. I’d just like us to show a bit more fight and ambition.

Feel really tired, another rum and to bed.

Dismal display. Full credit to Brighton, who were the better side as they were at the Amex. So lucky to get a point.

Loads of reasons why we were so poor, but it's vital we are up for Saturday. Some really crap individual performances, so I hope the players will turn it on in such a crucial game.

Let's hope Silva and Kova are both fully fit.

Seconded , against Palace we showed our intention from the start. Tonight we started poorly and didn't at any time look like changing tempo. Brighton are a good drilled side but they are were they are in the league for a reason.

One of the most leggy performances I've seen from us this season. Whole squad looks f**ked. Not a single pass in the final third seemed to connect. Brighton also had an extra 5 days to recover. Not our best performance but I'll take the point. West Ham is a MUST WIN saturday.

It's easy to defend against a team that play like we do. All teams need to do is play like any Premier League team should play and they will get something out of the game against us.

Brighton were nothing special tonight, they gave the ball away in dangerous areas multiple times in the first half, most teams would have made them pay for that. The problem was ourselves, we aren't doing enough to win these games. We are struggling to create one single decent chance against these teams and it's entirely down to the way we play. It's slow, risk free, we never get out of first gear, the players didn't even look like they had a workout. Not a hair out of place, kit without a speck of dirt on it........minimal effort for minimal reward.

Wtf, name me a chance he had to prove himself, we f**ked about out wide on both wings, was Girouds chance the only one we created....

It’s everything he does. I posted after seeing him kick the ball out for a goal kick and appeal for a corner. He knew full well he’d clumsily kicked it out himself. You can see the utter lack of confidence. He was simply bought too soon. As usual, the big clubs panic when they see young talent and buy them before they’ve developed so someone else doesn’t get them. And this is the result.
