All my respect to the fans who protested at the stadium today. I didn't feel eager to watch tthe game. What matters is the legacy they left behind after today's action. A legacy with which future generations can grow. Proud of them.

Why would I change my name? All my properties, yachts, mansions and even a certain football club are under that name.

I'd have just bought myself a new set of supporters for the ESL project, but alas, it wasn't meant to be.

Scary. You could actually could be the genuine "Abramovich".

Took me a while because my camera takes pictures that are about 5MB so I have to go o to the settings of each pic and change everything because this forum only let's us upload 3MBs per item I could upload 1,000 images at 1MB burning can't upload 1 image at 5MB, it doesnt make sense...if @Mod Stark and @coco can get this changed I will donate an extra 20 quid this year

Can't do it buddy. Imagine 500 people uploading 100 5MB pictures per year, our hosting would increase no end.

Have you tried doing it in members gallery and linking it in a post?

Embarrassing performance, played with no intensity or energy given what;s at stake. We should have lost the game, and for once I'm disappointed we didn't.  Those rotated in made no attempts or efforts to win the game, and the so called progress of Havetz, Ziyech etc looks a thing of the past. Surely the last game of Alonso this season, just offered nothing going forward or in the back, looked a luxury player on the field. There's no control and energy in the midfield at all despite, everytime there's an extra touch or two, and how poor were some of the first touches in the final third? Only positive is Kepa got himself a cleansheet. Maybe it's part of Tuchel's plan, have a rest here and risk couple of points, beat WestHam on the weekend and we will back in the top 4.

I dont know how this internet making stuff works, you are much more knowledgeable than me about it. but out of curiosity, how come I can upload picture after picture of 3.2MB on the same comment and literally use like 30MB but I can not upload one picture of 3.4MB in a comment?

30MB pictures in a post? Blimey, ban this guy @coco

If its 3.2MB, its far too big for anywhere and you'll need to scale down the filesize. Imagine someone trying to load the page on Mcdonalds internet. There will be an app you can download for that. Also best to keep them to The Shed End Lounge to keep the match chat rolling. Unless its pictures of the game. If its cats or tiddies, yea The Lounge.

Click Gallery at the top there and you can create you're own album in members gallery and just link the pics to a post. In fact, you can link a whole album.

It's easy to defend against a team that play like we do. All teams need to do is play like any Premier League team should play and they will get something out of the game against us.

Brighton were nothing special tonight, they gave the ball away in dangerous areas multiple times in the first half, most teams would have made them pay for that. The problem was ourselves, we aren't doing enough to win these games. We are struggling to create one single decent chance against these teams and it's entirely down to the way we play. It's slow, risk free, we never get out of first gear, the players didn't even look like they had a workout. Not a hair out of place, kit without a speck of dirt on it........minimal effort for minimal award.

It wasn’t a good performance at all, but there were some mitigating circumstances. if this were “the way we play”, we’d never win a match. This wasn’t how we played against: Everton, Liverpool, Tottenham, Atletico twice, Porto once, Manchester City, Newcastle, Crystal Palace, Burnley...

And if your point is about the lower clubs, note the latter three examples. Your point is partially true and yes our overall results tally vs lower clubs should perhaps be better, but it’s not hard to understand why this is the case. It’s impossible to maintain the same energy in every match when we are playing so many. Would you rather we were losing all the big games instead and hammering the lesser clubs? Have you ever considered the angle that our track record against lesser clubs looks worse than it is because our tally against top sides is so damn good?

Sounds too complicated to me, I think I'll just stick to complaining that I can't have things my own way 🤣

but the limit for a file size, unless I'm misreading it is 3.3MB. I tried to upload one photo I took on my phone and it said something like '1 or more items exceeded the 3.3MB limit' but if scale it down a little tiny bit I can upload it multiple times on one comment.

I dont know how it all works, I just click the internet button and see what happens most of the time. I only noticed that forums was a thing about a year ago (when I joined). Makes it worse when you realise I'm in my early-ish 30s and I got 2 qualifications in computer stuffs 🤪

It is the way we play, against this level of opposition at least. Its become a pattern now, they can't be described as anomalies any more.

I'm not expecting the same energy in every match, but bloody hell, the way we are approaching these games is a joke. We are spending most of the game passing across the back line, and any time we get forward, if something doesn't open up staight away, it's back to the midfield and then back to the defence all over again.

I can't think of a more boring side to watch than us right now. We can barely create a single chance and we always seem to gift the opposition a big chance because of our sleepy football. If we can't manage to keep the performances up regularly, then what hope have we got for finishing in the top 4 and challenging at the top again any time soon? Our situation is no worse than everybody elses, but they still manage to keep their energy levels high, create chances, are entertaining to watch and most of them have much weaker squads than ours.

Really, that’s surprising. Big cup games in between and you don’t realise the drop in league form.

I am not surprised at all, and I expect us to drop more points with the semi approaching. Realistically we will probably fall short of top 4 as our rivals for these spots don't have the same distractions. I would still rather be in the Champions League semi, and FA Cup final. If we miss out on Champions League next season so be it.

I prefer to be in top 4 and without distractions. Since 2013 we are jo-jo toy-top 4 - 7-8th. Lets first to make good games and be stable and after that cups and titles. I don't want some cup and top 4 and then buum 2 seasons 7-th. Last seasons we are on the edge not to be in top 4 , now is the same

But there is no such pattern. Tonight was dreadful - a worse performance than vs WBA imo. But our last performance against a lower team, Crystal Palace, was excellent. And I’d say these last two games taken together are pretty reflective of the overall picture - it’s more like 50/50, we play well in about half of them.

It’s not ideal but, to answer your question about “what hope do we have of top 4” etc, give it time. We’re actually doing better than that on a pro rata basis since Tuchel arrived. We were in 10th place and our chances of top 4 looked bleak. Bigger picture, the trend is positive and I’m going to risk making a fool of myself by saying I think we’ll not only finish comfortably in the top 4 next season, but will be challenging for the title.

And it’s not true what you say about everyone being in the same boat. We just played back-to-back gruelling, very important matches while Brighton didn’t.

I'd say we deserved less, they hit the bar and missed a sitter while we had about 2 corners and 2 shot all game.

Zouma shouldn't play for us again, he's a disaster waiting to happen but is allowed to keep coming back for some reason.

Ziyech and the Germans I just don't see it, a huge waste of money so far.

I would say that at the beginning our expectations were extremely high and we have been gradually brought down to earth with inconsistent abject performances by our star imports; and if it wasn't for the poor performances of others around us we'd be about where Frank left us.

It does seem an odd choice to make when you need a goal to turn to Werner.

Who's "they"? Everyone in this league bar City face similar issues as to what you describe, reading reviews of Leicester, Tottenham, Arsenal, Liverpool and even United's performances none of them are playing swashbuckling stuff.

Honestly I would say Leeds are about the only team playing swashbuckling football. And in their case it is unpredictable as they make a lot of mistakes in defense. Under Tuchel we have generally defended very well. We just haven't managed to find much fluency going forward. Hopefully we will improve in that area over time without losing our defensive solidity.

Yeah it doesn’t work at all.

Would have put Gilmore in thats just not mounts position We couldn’t connect the midfield to attack at all. The difference with us playing world class and piss poor is that Midfield connect same every time If other there top class if not useless

Maybe I am wrong but I have never seen a team with the same manager improve drastically in one area without changing player

Still cant believe Gilmour doesnt get a look in, he would have done better than most others tonight

Kissed that goodbye when we sacked Frank. No big name managers will risk it because of exactly what happened to him. They’ll be sacked if things don’t go their way.

Ironically, one of the things the ESL would have done would have been allow us to actually see the younger players get a game - we won’t have any youngsters come through again for a long time IMO. Not worth the managers job from their point of view.

For the most part this is what happens when you play 5 at the back. People were praising how tight Tuchel has made us and we don’t concede much, but we rarely score either.

Trying to be more attacking and take risk cost Frank his job. Tuchel is obviously going a much safer route. Hopefully he gets to the summer and then can change it a bit for next season because IMO, we aren’t great to watch even if we have been getting results.

What is Mount’s position though? He doesn’t create enough to play as a 10.

He has been dodgy the last 3 games, but that is to be expected as he has played too many mins. I reckon long term he needs to be played in a 3 in a midfield with a DM behind.

I think lots are feeling this way coombsie. I'm actually not sure I'll even watch.

The reality is our decision has largely made the game meaningless. We are apparently in a race to try and finish fourth to qualify for a competition we won't be joining in any case.

The truth is beyond finishing first and avoiding relegation the whole PL season is largely a moot point. Given that fans can't attend matches home or away now and the matchday experience is gone it does feel a bit like what's the point?

The key thing the American drivers behind all this have missed is that US franchise based leagues have play-offs. That's what keeps the domestic leagues interesting. In the first past the post system of European football that doesn't exist. But I suppose we'll now have finals systems in the domestic leagues to complete the awful Americanisation of the sport.

Anyway long story short, I'm not fussed. Wouldn't surprise me if it affects the team and the result. It's nothing if not a massive distraction.

Last para is so true Spiller, despite the breaking news, the team didn't have the stomach for it
