Romelu Lukaku back to Chelsea - and gone again!

It was awful for Lukaku to text an ongoing situation to someone who isn't a part of the club but wtf was Tim Howard's problem leaking that on tv?

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Tim Howard asked Lukaku if he could share it and Lukaku agreed to it.

that's why he sent it to him in the first place.

This situation is still fixable. Like JFH and Carrick said. Lukaku apologies, agrees to knuckle down. Tuchel says what a great player he is and life goes on. Lukaku has  great ability was voted man of the match on here recently. Whether he plays every game or not we need him and he needs to show he is “on the bus”.  He needs to show the world he can be a team player. It’s a bit to his ego not starting every game and being the star like he was at Inter. A bit of diplomacy is what’s needed. Less oxygen for this fire.

Maybe if he completely backs down and completely apologizes and works hard it could be salvaged.  But that's a huge if.

And even then it's going to take time to heal that wound.  His teammates probably feel pretty betrayed by this.  That's not something that is forgiven overnight.

He's a reporter/commentator now. . . that is literally his job.

I really doubt that Lukaku sent the text with the impression that it was going to be held in confidence.  If you are in that situation and you are talking with anyone in the media you have to know they are going to share what you said.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned what if we get Inter in the UCL? His head will be gone and there's no way he'd be able to play that match.

For the first time ever I'll actually have severe doubts if one of our own players actually wants us to win.

Gary Neville said he shouldn't apologize if he means what he said.

I agree. Why backtrack.

I personally would want him maybe to clarify about what he said. That has probably lost in translation.

Carragher suggested Lukaku just wanted to sweeten the relationship with Inter fans. Not realistic he will go back there anytime soon.

Probably that is the case. He should pretty much leave after 3 seasons at most. Inters financies won't get fixed that soon.

BTW is Tim Howard his friend? If so, not a good at that. If Lukaku has said he can talk about it on live TV Big Rom is even stupider than I thought.

This is not that far from Diego Costa v Conte...Diego Costa is just honest about being Diego Costa. You can expect sh*t like that from him. Lukaku I thought is a different type.

Tuchel is not going to change his tactics to accommodate one player. It looks as though the rest of the team backs Tuchel, and so far the club does too. Either Lukaku makes his peace with Tuchel and accepts the system he plays in, or he will have to be moved on. I will be surprised if he is still a Chelsea player next season.

This part struck me the most.

That is why he shouldn't start big games. He is more effective running at tired legs in them. But he is very effective against the smaller sides where aren't under as much pressure and sides generally sit back. As someone who didn't want him to come back, my ideal situation would be he apologizes and acts professional till end of the season and then we try to move him on. Maybe target someone like Vlahovic - young and plenty of upside.

That's easily solved, we take him to Lille in the next round, leave him on the coach and tell the driver to drop him off at the Italian border, where the Inter Ultras will be waiting to welcome him back to the country, courtesy of the shed end forum informing them.

Some one on SS said what if Tuchel was a Chelsea buy, not particularly what Tuchel wanted, and TT might have sussed Lukaku doesn't fit his style, and hopefully the Club back him if any major upheavals occur.

You’ve just made me picture Tuchel buying a clone of himself for the team, a lanky striker, the new Flo

Utterly bizarre - is he having a mental breakdown ?

Stopped short of changing to an old photo, but all the same ... his agent must be tearing his hair out trying to get some control of the situation ... the man himself clearly hasn't finished digging yet ...

And with this, he had sealed his fate. He's done at CFC.

The part that blows my mind the most is he apparently idolises Drogba.

He literally couldn't be so different from Didier in both playing style and mentality. He obviously can't help not being as naturally gifted as Drogs but you would think his mentality would have rubbed off on him a bit.

On a separate note, Lukaku vs Drogba is the perfect case study on why you can't solely judge forwards on goal stats alone.

One rumour possibly from the meeting. When he was signed Lukaku did indeed expect the team to be built around him and his strengths. As Conte did.

The fact Conte did it now means he expects any coach to do so, especially when he costs a club record fee. Apparently he seriously believed this would happen and is part of the main reason he is unhappy.

All thar suggest she was not TT signing.

But that is something that irks me. I am sure the system was discussed before he signed. He is just acting petulant now.

Was it? Did he even talk to TT or did the club simply sign him as TT wanted a striker?

Hey, I haven't been actively recently. Just wanted to pop by and give my thoughts:

Lukaku is a 🔔 end

Okay, thank you. See ya guys soon!

Where have you been? Chilwell has been our for 2 months now and you have not been beating the Alex Sandro drum. In fact @comtrend has pushed Theo Hernandez ahead in que!

That is my assumption as generally all players do talk to the manager. Maybe not the case with this prima donna.

Theo Hernandez would be lucky to lace Alex Sandro' boots. I want us to offer Pookaku to Juve in a swap deal.

In regards to where I've been, I've been fairly busy as Bakayoko's PR advisor

Straight swap for Martinez?

Works for me, but Inter can't afford Lukaku's wages, which were apparently 3x what they are paying Martinez .. and that's before we doubled them as well ...
