More on Romelu Lukaku deal. Talks are at final stages as reported today, as Chelsea told Inter they are ready to accept the following conditions: €10m loan fee plus add-ons. 🔵🇧🇪 #CFC

Inter are just waiting for owners to give the final ‘green light’, as per @MatteoBarzaghi.

Depends how long the loan is? Full contract? Annual with option to re-new. €10M every year until the end of his contract ain´t that bad.

This entire saga has been so embarrassing for Chelsea. I wish nothing but the worst for the rest of Lukaku's career now.

If he is on loan that might not be the wisest thing, as if he gets injured or does not perform the loan won't get renewed.

Fortunately I think Lukaku hopes to do sometihng in a Belgium shirt so we should be ok if he gets the service he needs in Italy

With the loan fee Inter are offering and the way he acted i'd rather waste the £300k a week and leave Lukaku in the reserves for the next 4 years to waste his career.

MILAN - Romelu Lukaku 's imminent return to Milan drove the Inter fans crazy , who this morning stormed the free sale of season tickets for Inzaghi 's team . Waiting times? Over an hour of queuing to buy the precious card, even if, it should be emphasized, even in the previous days the numbers had been important. However, traffic on the Inter website has increased further since this morning . Thanks to the Big Rom effect and Steven's long-awaited green light for the operationZhang , who should arrive today during a meeting between Inter and Chelsea. The president, to tell the truth, will ask Marotta and Ausilio to try to get a discount to the counter-proposal made yesterday by the Blues (10 million plus 2 bonuses) through Lukaku 's lawyer , Ledure, but if the attempt does not go through, it is unlikely that number one in Viale della Liberazione will blow up a deal that could be that of the year for a couple of million: to borrow a center forward worth the Belgian after it had been sold for 115 million just 10 months earlier. The Inter fans are over the moon and the season ticket race is now even more ... wild than a few days ago. https://www-corrieredellosport-it.translate.goog/news/calcio/2022/06/20-93974105/inter_lukaku_manda_in_tilt_la_vendita_degli_abbonamenti?_x_tr_sl=it&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=sl&_x_tr_pto=sc

Corriere dello Sport say the call took place at 8.30am on April 5 and after wishing the coach a happy 46th birthday, Lukaku reportedly asked: 'Mister, what can I do to return to Inter?'The conversation came the day before Chelsea played their crunch Champions League quarter-final, first leg against Real Madrid.

Lukaku costs us ~35m a year at the moment. This deal will reduce that to costing us 10m for next season.

If we can then get 40m as a sale next season after (if) he performs at inter, then suddenly we've reduced our potential loss from 140m in your scenario, to 30m.

I know your joking. But that's the numbers here.

On the books yeah.

Lukaku will already have cost the club £130-140 million. Getting £5-10 million in return a year later is beyond pathetic. Even on the books it's pathetic, it's something everything laughed at Leeds which led to them going bust back in the early 2000s.

As a matter of fact. Lukaku being the last transfer of the Roman-era sums up our complete incompetence over the last several years in the market.

Transfers are judged over the cost of their transfer, not a lump sum. So lukaku is 20m for 5 years in transfer fee and 15m per year in wages.

It was a silly transfer, but it looks worse in hindsight. This loan deal gives us back some financial dignity and I'm glad we're at least trying that instead of persevering on with a player who isn't working out and isn't going to. Sunken cost fallacy is a real thing and we've avoided it.

Worst deal in the history of football.

The Top 10 worst deals ever is mostly populated by Chelsea signings, a record we’re clearly proud of as we’re now being linked with £50m ‘marque signing’ Richarlison

We're rich and debt free, that's a figure I'd be willing to take a hit on to ruin his career.

f**king hell I detest Lukaku. I had optimism although I never wanted to re-sign him. I felt he has grown up and have leadership-qualities. Reality is he is a teenage boy in a man's body. He doesn't consider the 97,5m at all. He has no concern of it.

Think about someone like Azpi or Jorginho who would do anything to repay that faith the club have shown them. This man-boy just lives his best life as he wishes.

Get the f**k out and fast!

I don't blame Lukaku at all.  He is who he is, not who we wanted him to be.

I blame whoever the hell did the psychometric assessment.  No excuses, for how long he'd been in our setup we HAD to know he was weak willed and immature.

So you choose to ignore the statements he's made, the imbecilic interviews, the lack of fitness, effort and contrition and none of the blame is his?

It at that point was a mere two years since he leaked confidential fitness information at United.

I'm reading its allegedly a 1 year loan with an option to extend the loan which triggers an obligation to buy clause onto the deal.

So a year without his wages + the very high likelihood Inter trigger the buy back.

If it is only an option to extend the loan then they don't have to pick that up .

That's why you'll never run a business or have any position of responsibility in your life.

Your spite only harms yourself and in this case the club.

He was probably the best player in Serie A 2 season ago. He will be fine in Inter
