Is pretty funny Rio believes he is number 1, when in fact he is not even top 5, and VVD sucking up to him too lol.

 

5 PL defenders better than Rio he did not pick in his top 5:

 

Carragher, Desailly, Campbell, King, Adams.

Note lack of club bias there too Rio.

United did have a very decent defense when they were at their best, but so too did Arsenal, and ourselves. In addition to Adams I'd say Steve Bould and Martin Keown were very good for Arsenal. Likewise Ricky Carvalho, and Gary Cahill for us. Kompany from City worth a shout too. I would have Rio in a top 5 as probably the pick of United (and Leeds) defenders. JT for sure. VVD from Liverpool is fair and personally I think is better than Carragher. I would also pick Kompany and Adams to round out the top 5. So no team with more than 1 which is probably about right.

Rio not the pick of Uniteds defence for me. Vidic vastly superior imo, as was Stam before they both arrived.

If only we beat them in the FA cup final they would have ended the season with just a Carabao cup. Also disgraceful from Michael Owen saying that Liverpool are still best team in the world despite losing both the UCL and the Premier League. Sure top 3 but definitely not the best.
