He's not ready for that yet. Maybe, maybe not. This time last year we would have said the same of Toni and AC. Our forwards would need to step up big time for us to be at the league level anyways.
January 3, 20224 yr It was crucial mistake, especially you don't give gifs like this against Liverpool, but I also can be happy it happened. He's young, talented defender that will learn from his mistake and probably won't make it again. Mistakes are part of the game! He doesn't have the experience like Rudiger, Azpi and Thiago Silva, he kept his head up after the mistake and continued to perform and did some good defensive plays. He's our future defender, there is no reason to lose trust in him.

I would have kept both of them ! Really don't understand why Lamps froze Tomori out of things. He must have had a reason, but buggered if I could see it :-) Chalobah is taller and can also play midfield, which may have counted in his favour vs the other two.

We have a first option on Guehi not a buyback. Tomori problem was we had Ruidger, Silva, Christensen and Zouma and Frank usually played a back 4. Guehi only had 2 years left on his contract and didn't want to go out on loan, so he wouldn't sign a new deal.
February 28, 20224 yr Big Trev back and looking great again. Honestly been left mystified why AC, who does not even want to stay here, has been picked ahead of him. Trev is still a bit raw sure but his potential is so much higher. Better in the air, faster, stronger and the added bonus of being better going forward for when our wide CBS push up.
February 28, 20224 yr Struggled in the first half, but since the second half he put some great defensive actions. We've got a good defender in our hands.
February 28, 20224 yr Thought he had a great game. Was up against a tough forward line and had to mark Dias who was impressive.
February 28, 20224 yr On a personal level i was so relieved he scored that penalty. Was getting Saka at The Euros vibes when he stepped up.
February 28, 20224 yr Trev needed stitches have the challange for Kieta. Not that at matters but both Redknapp and Carragher changed their tunes and thought he was a lucky boy not to be sent off.
February 28, 20224 yr He’s rarely put a foot wrong this season. To come back in after so long out in a cup final and play as well as he did, was incredible. Quickly becoming one of my favourite players.

March 13, 20224 yr While he's a great squad player I certainly hope we don't intend to replace Christensen with Chalobah. Because the gulf in class there is absolutely massive. I do realize we have much, much bigger problems to deal with right now. But if we get ownership in place before the summer and intend to compete we'll need to properly replace Christensen.
March 13, 20224 yr 3 big errors sunce the turn of the year, liverpool at the bridge, the pen at Norwich, and ge got away with one today. He has had a good debut season, but needs to cut the errors out quickly.

Was minimal contact and a player who fell to the floor when he realized he overran the ball. If you want to make that a foul just make the game a no contact sport already.

I do believe it would of been soft and their player definately tried to be sly and maximise the opportunity. The issue is chalobah got too easily turned by him and was grabbing his shirt. Put that under a slow motion replay and youre practically begging them to award a penalty. He needed to be wiser in the situation, and i think we can all see theres a few mistakes creeping in. And youre right we definately need to be prepared to put up with them too..how else will players gain experience and maximise their potential to get to that elite level like his counterpart christensen has done through many years with us.

AC certainly made his share of mistakes with people wanting to bin him too.
March 14, 20224 yr Thats exactly what im getting it. We have to be prepared that during their journey of maximising their potential and getting to that elite level, there will be mistakes along the way.

On a trivial note that player Jacob Murphy played against us in the youth cup final for Norwich alongside his twin Josh (now at Preston). I remember it because my first thought was they (aswell as that whole Norwich side) were total sh*thouses.
March 14, 20224 yr Sorry but Chalobah is OK for emergencies or if we're 3 or 4 nil up,he is a liability at defending,he can be beaten easily and makes stupid mistakes.
March 14, 20224 yr My memory might not be super accurate but I feel like he was more solid and confident on 1v1s and has only been a bit more panicky in the last few games.
March 14, 20224 yr Debut season in Chelsea, we can't really expect him to be on John Terry's level. Mistakes are part of his development, let's not forget how good he was in top games. I might agree that he's not an option for a starter CB next season but talent and potential is there. Time will tell us how his career will grow with us.
March 14, 20224 yr Far too early to write him off. Still only 22 years old, played a total of 25 times (though I could be wrong) for the club. Needs to be given time to learn from his mistakes, and to develop as a footballer.
March 14, 20224 yr He’s been great this season. Rarely let us down and come up with some good moments. Yes a couple of dodgy moments and Newcastle were robbed off a (soft and clumsy) penalty. He hasn’t let us down this season.
