He's been utterly brilliant for Palace. One of the midfielders of the season so far probably.

Don't think there is any doubt he'll be back here. Tuchel clearly likes him a lot already which is no surprise.
He's Kante-like in the way he press and he's also got great attacking qualities. Could have a future here both in the six and as one of our forwards.

In both positions he will find it hard to get in to our team though. I dont get people wanting him to play in our front 3, he's best attributes are playing deeper.

Reckon he comes back next year and slots into the midfield somewhere?

Somewhere is the problem!, I have said it numerous time i don't see where he fits in in our current system. He is a number 8 to me, but we only usually play with 2 in CM.

So glad for him, fully deserved! He's been very good every single time I watched Palace this season...

He’s sitting with reecey and chilly (I think)

Am I right in thinking that he hasn’t made his official debut for us yet ?

Frank would not have a spot in this current side based on that either, neither would Franco.

When a player has that amount of talent and that amount of dedication you make room for them, you adapt your system, or you are a fool. And TT is no fool.

And he seems to be a good enough footballer to adapt to any system 🙂

He slots in for Kante.

Fans thought the same about Chalobah who was playing in Ligue 1 but he is now a solid squad player. I reckon he comes in and challenges Kante for a first team role. Kante will be 31 next season and is making less starts due to injuries, and as he gets older he will need to be managed properly.

Gallagher with his driving runs, tenacity and goals is a dead cert to be playing for us next season. The only reason that might be delayed is if he feels he is close to making the World Cup squad at the end of this season.

Jorginho, Kovacic, Kante, RLC, Gallagher for 2 postions seems overkill. Plus we have Gilmour coming back, and we are strongly linked with Tchouameni.

I want him to come back and play but i think he's going to find it hard to get a start.

Kante and Barkley. I think Barkley won't be a part of our team next season and Kante at 31 wouldn't play all games but he will be managed to be at his best for the big ones. Gallagher has a space in due time, looks like all is going accordingly

I wonder if Jorginho might be on his way at the end of this season.

I doubt it. He seems to be peaking now and has a coach who properly understands how to use him.

It does seem that Tuchel is happy to leave him on the bench. RLC has started ahead of him when he is fit. I think Tuchel wants more from Jorginho and RLC offers that. Whether he can stay fit is another question of course.

It's going to be tough on these youngsters and they may have to wait another season; watched the Scotland game last night rather than the England game which was always going to end like a cricket score.  Gilmour ran his heart out for a very good Scotland performance and left everything on the pitch.  As the commentator said 'How does Gilmour not get into the Norwich team'.....if he comes back next season he can't be left on the bench and that's the problem, we have too many very good young players that have blossomed all at the same time...

Sadly Kante and Jorginho will both be into their 30s come the start of next season. Although not guaranteed both will likely be off the the mid season WC and whilst it’s possible Gallagher likewise would it’s more than likely that he would be a squad member whereas the two I mention earlier will be starters and being that much older will inevitably be more physically challenged than than players in their early to mid 20s

Saul will be gone, I fully expect Barkley to be gone and I would not be surprised at all if one or both of Jorginho and Kante are sold and Gilmour and Gallagher replace them. Jorginho sale for me would be far more dependent on Gilmours progress and game time but I suspect that under Smith he will be given a decent chance s come season end he will be far more experienced.

Ok I know that would massively strip away experience but in terms of potential and of course longevity it probably would be the right thing to do.

We can’t afford to let our midfield fall over the age cliff nor can we deny the obvious talent pool that exists at Chelsea and in the case of Gilmour and Gallagher it would be folly to allow them to leave Gallagher has several years left in his contract but Gilmours is due to end in 2023

If he stays fit I reckon Gallagher can go further than Mount. Different style to Lampard  but producing similar results. Really looked the goods against Burnley. So effective in attack.
