We're asking a player who's characteristics are more similar to Kante's to play the number 10 and be a creative outlet/scorer. Just more mismanagement from the manager.
February 1, 20242 yr Had a shocker last night. Whole team was off it, the VAR officials are probably off on a cash paid holiday. Some outrageous decisions.

He always gives away stupid fouls too because he doesn't know when to tackle and when to hold.
February 1, 20242 yr I think Clearlake would listen to offers of 50m+ for Gallagher. He will almost certainly be sold in the summer. Either way, without a replacement it leaves us very short in midfield. Enzo supposedly needing to manage a hernia, and Carney only just back from long term injury. Lavia and Ugo out long term.

They would take 40mill imo, as they did from Everton a year ago.

Kante was 2nd to none in ball winning and his ability to dribble in tight areas made him such a HUGE asset to the point where it was worth the trade off vs having a more technical midfielder instead. (None of this lone DM bollocks) This is why Kante was so world class. Those two attributes alone had him dominate anyone. Gallagher doesn't have any highlighting attribute where we can indefinitely say, yeah let's put him in this role.
February 1, 20242 yr Matt Law was saying that he thinks the club feel that Conor is in a purple patch and is over performing. To be honest, I can kind of see it. Outside of the running, he doesn’t offer much else. Not saying we should sell him because I think we do need him but I can see the clubs logic if that is the case.
February 1, 20242 yr I’d like to see Chukwemeka get a few games in that no10 role over Gallagher and see how he gets on, guaranteed to be more creative and get more goals/assists anyway.

I would as well but we need to be cautious with his game time so he does not break down again. Casadei vs Wolves would be interesting.

He already has more goals than Gallagher in that position and he's barely played. He'll definitely do better numbers if you stick him there, as would Palmer. Playing Gallagher as a 10 is just completely negative, I can only understand using it when we're in big games.

What big games have we won this season with Gallagher at the 10?

February 3, 20242 yr @Scott Harris Enzo is sitting which mean you need your no 10, Palmer in this instance to press two player. Edited February 3, 20242 yr by Bob stark

The fact that we are using "running" to judge players' quality shows how low our standards have become. That used the be the bare minimum for people like Lamps, Essien etc. Gallagher shouldn't be applauded for his running when he offers nothing else.
February 7, 20242 yr Best game from him I've seen in a long time, he shut me up tonight so credit where it's due. If he played like that even 40% of the time I wouldn't be on his back as much as I am. Once the midfield clicks, everything else seems to click with it. It's vitally important we get things right in the middle.
February 7, 20242 yr Played with discipline tonight and therefore enzo and caicedo knew where he was and could do there thing lo and behold it all clicks and they bossed villa
