Which would have been a reason to speed up the negotiating process, as there is hardly time to find somebody else if this falls through. It's not like we didn't know his injury record and possible red flags.

My feeling is that if this one falls through, we will probably not sign another defender this window.

That's why we were saying to carry on with Tapsoba as well, if that was ever a real thing

It would have been smart for Leicester and ourselves to have worked out him taking a medical at least a week ago, at our expense. They lost nothing by doing so.

They will lose the transfer fee, and be left with a disgruntled player that has known injury problems.
August 29, 20223 yr @Sconnie Blue has said TT has acknowledged we are short in midfield. So not too late to make this a package deal with Leicester at take Tieldmans (1 year left on his deal, no interest in signing a new one) and Nididi (who they are not using often at the mo). Maybe another 50mill will get them to let both go.

You never know though. Regarding Fofana I re-read the article and there is no suggestion that an initial medical failed. He is just being given a thorough medical check by a US-based team, based in his previous injury record. Probably a US-based medical team that Boehly trusts based on his experience with signings for the Dodgers.

August 29, 20223 yr They're going to lock him in a room and beat his legs with sticks as a means of stress testing. Only legal in the US.

Someone we should stay away from. I'd happily go for Tielemans though I think he ticks a lot of boxes for us but there's no suggestion he's the type of player Tuchel wants or that we've looked at him. August 29, 20223 yr Teliemans would solve a lot of problems for us but Leicester would be damned to sell him to us now when there is absolutely zero chance to get a credible replacement. Havingg said that, were Fofana to fail his medicals we would be in a bit of a quagmire. It may then be the great Dlboldly time

Pretty sure Leicester have been aware. Tielemans adds the occasional long range goals which we have needed for 5 years now
August 30, 20223 yr Tileleman be a good option, forget about the goals, just look at those passes he popped over the top to Vardy on the weekend, we didn't have a player who could do that.
