Actually cucurella was identified the year we signed Ben.. I remember him being part of the consideration set.. but we went with Ben and the hope that one of Alonso / Emerson deputising..

with Ben’s injury it really scuppered our plans..

Decent debut, he was clearly needed too. Now we look almost complete in defense.

Good enough debut. Not tested that much. I like his big although a bit slight frame and you can see he has a good motor. He was very secure in his performance. Didn't try any heroics. A brilliant tackle in WHU attack to win back the ball when we were looking for the winner.

He looked good today.  When being more assertive, seems confident to bring ball forward also.  Only one item was that silly James head that should have cost us a goal - Fofana should have called James off and headed it forward.

As debuts go that was very good IMO.

A lot of pressure on him after that transfer saga and he was solid today.

He’s gonna be ok.

Yup, what a signing he is. Really hard to believe he is only 21, blooming heck.

Jose was wrong on Alex. He was great, massively underrated. There's a reason Carlo took him to PSG when that plonker AVB froze him out.

Koulibaly being poor?

Very early days of course but reckon this will be our best transfer from the window - delighted we got him. I think he’ll be a big player for us over the coming years.
