I'm really starting to think our physio team are doing something very wrong. This reminds me exactly of Rudiger a few years ago. He picked up a knee injury that had him out for a few months, first game back, and he suffers the same injury again. The same thing has now happened to Fofana, and they aren't the only ones.

Kovacic, Kante, Ziyech, Pulisic, etc. All of these players come back from an injury and almost instantly get injured again. When Kante leaves at the end of the season, I wouldn't be surprised if he manages to play a full season injury free. When our players get injured, they don't seem to be recovering properly before playing again.

I wouldnt be surprised either.

Someone really needs to look into this. Whether its Boehly or all the new staff he has hired because it is becoming to large of an issue to ignore.

Livramento shows good form whilst rumors we want to buy him back. Boom. Knee Injury.

Chilwell showing elite levels of performances. Boom. Knee injury.

Fofana finally building up some sharpness after a good performance against Milan. Boom. Knee injury.

James entering worlds greatest RB territory. Boom. Knee injury.

Broja having free time to impress the manager and cement a starting spot. Boom. Knee injury.

Fofana finally back from a knee injury. Boom. Knee injury.

Am I missing any?

And then there's also the usual Kovacic and Kante getting injured the moment they get back from injury.

Haven’t seen the latest incident but previously fofana brought trouble on himself with a tackling style bound to lead to injuries.

And Chilwell. And James. And Kante.

It's not the physios fault. It's the management. All our players should be forced to copy the "Jorginho method". Don't challenge, don't go in for 50-50 tackles. Instead stand in space and attempt to intercept.

I am 100% certain our injury list would go down if this was adopted throughout the team.

Where is he? There has been updates on everyone but him. Need to get these injured players back asap.

Takes far too long to recover.  That game was a month ago.

Can’t believe we signed someone with that serious of an injury for such a fee. And it’s clear that he’s in the same mold as Kante is now. You’ve more chance of seeing Brigadoon than either of them play.

It’s insane how much we’ve spent and at least four have been an absolute complete and utter waste of money. Fofana, KK, Cucurella and Sterling. Isn’t that somewhere in the region of 220 million quids worth?

And we’re stuck with them whilst missing out on Fernandez.

Which is why I am hoping one of Badisahsile or Colwill can develop their game to play as RCB also.

Funny I thought Fofana was looking good before the injury. Miles better than Koulibaly, though I accept, that's not hard.

Cucurella, agreed, I really don't know why we brought him. But Fofana has all the tools to be a world class centre-back and can also play right back. Hopefully he isn't injury prone like James, Chilwell, Kante etc.

Sounds a bit hopeful at the minute given the injury issues of three of them but I'd love to eventually see the back four of James-Forfana-Colwill-Chilwell.

That's bonafide elite if all goes to plan, and I think Chilwell could even be upgraded on (similar to how Bridge was very good but when Cole was available...).

Agreed Argo. Plus with the development of Hall and retaining Chalobah and Badoshile, there would be plenty of scope for cover, rotation and rest across the whole back line.

Cucurella and Koulibaly would immediately be surplus to requirements IMO.

Agreed, in the case of Fofana I was referring to his fitness/injury status as the issue as opposed to him not being very good like the others I mentioned.

Not optimistic about Fofana staying fit for looking periods though. A leg break doesn’t enhance many players fitness/injury records going forward.

I guess Maradonna is the exception.

however I’ve still yet to hear when he will be back from his latest injury? Does anyone know?

No idea but so long as he and James aren't rush. Have them fresh by CL.

And even then, I am liking the look of Badiashile + Silva so far.

Fofana had serious injuries prior to joining us , I can't understand how we paid such a huge fee for someone with his injury record .

Is this the medics or just bad luck ?

A break isn't usually that bad long term though. Musculary things or ligaments, etc are way worse.

Something tells me this is going to be a Batsman type signing.

I think because of the transitional moment the club are going through and the current standings, the club have decided to take a different approach and take as much time as possible with the injured players and make sure they are fully recovered.

Probably If we'd have been in a title race they'd have been rushed back into the squad earlier, but my guess is the club sees the first day of next season as the very first brick of everything they want to build here and don't want to risk aggravating injuries to important players.

For exemple Kante has last played in August and there is currently no return date set yet. A muscular injury that is taking the same recovery time as an ACL. And there is talk he will sign a new deal. Something tells me the club still see him as an important player and have decided is better for him to have a full recovery now and fire from all cylinders when it matters, and that's the start of next season. Or even better, they see us making a long run in the current CL edition and want him back for the final phase.

Just my two pennies on this. 🙂
