February 18, 20233 yr It’s easy to envision him and Badiashile forming a strong CB combo for years to come. Throw in Colwill and Chalobah, and that position seems well in hand, which is reassuring since it seemed like a crisis this summer when Rudi and Christensen were leaving without clear replacements.

He has a good read of the game for someone so young. The other Fofana was a big positive too I felt. Totally the wrong move by Potter to take him off at half-time.
February 18, 20233 yr Just more and more evidence that Potter is out of his depth. Chalobah has been a rock defensively for a good stretch of games. Why is Azpilicueta starting over him? Shame to talk bad about him considering his injury but he was at fault for Saint's FK and looked abysmal carrying the ball forward. Why isn't Fofana starting over the train wreck that is Koulibaly? My f**king nan even knew he'd be terrible dealing with Saint's press.

March 5, 20233 yr Very good, arguably our best player and could have had two goals. Next season it should be him and Badiashile starting and i'll be very comfortable if so. Lets just hope he can stay fit as there was another worry yesterday his knee went again.

I like this performance today Poor in the first half, good in the 2nd, especially when we needed to sit back and defend. My biggest worry in the first half was how easy he was to skin. It happened a few times. He's got a great leap on them though which should help from set pieces, both defending and attacking.
March 11, 20233 yr There was a lot of concern about the money we paid for him in the summer but it's looking like he is worth it. If we didn't sign him, United or City probably would have been snatching him up this summer and he would have been added to the list of the ones that got away. Glad we got him!

Never concerned about the money spent on him. Thought he was a class act for Leicester and I was delighted we got him. Injury concern was the only hesitation for me but I thought it well worth a roll of the dice at his age.
March 11, 20233 yr At last. We actually have a player who moves and attacks the ball in the air. And he is a tremendous natural athlete.

Reminds you of Terry attacking the ball at corners both defensively and attacking. Been a while since I've felt we ever looked dangerous from corners.

He's got a hell of a leap on him as well. With Chilwell's crossing and his heading ability, we suddenly look really dangerous again from corners.

March 11, 20233 yr With the hype Saliba is (deservedly) getting, from what I hear Fofana was the better player when those two played together for a season.
March 11, 20233 yr It was always evident he needed a good run of games. Has been rather unlucky this season. Edited March 11, 20233 yr by Sconnie Blue
March 11, 20233 yr Agree with all the positives above and would add that he can spot a pass through the lines.

March 12, 20233 yr I haveave to admit the Tuchel signings are all beginning to age very well now. Fofana's been immense since his injury, Sterling has our highest goal return, and Koulibaly is beginning to look very good now he's adjusted. Cucurella is the only one that doesn't seem great yet, though he's looked better recently.
