Feel for him but what a disaster class this signing has been so far, £75m to keep the physios and medical team busy; Leicester parting ways with damaged goods. Came off upset and holding his knee apparently. Usually means an ACL or something like that. Awful news if that's the case.

Can’t find the post but a physiotherapist did a full analysis of his lower body and this guy looks totally crocked and this follow up problem was predicted. It’s a mad reality that regardless of recoveries, we essentially have a player on huge money who can never ‘truly’ be considered a first teamer. Seasons will have to be planned with an asterisks over his name.

Would be a bit surprising though as Boehly personally sent him over to the states on a private plane to get his medical done by the doctors he trusts the most before we signed him.
December 20, 20223 yr Livramento shows good form whilst rumors we want to buy him back. Boom. Knee Injury. Chilwell showing elite levels of performances. Boom. Knee injury. Fofana finally building up some sharpness after a good performance against Milan. Boom. Knee injury. James entering worlds greatest RB territory. Boom. Knee injury. Broja having free time to impress the manager and cement a starting spot. Boom. Knee injury. Fofana finally back from a knee injury. Boom. Knee injury. Am I missing any?
December 20, 20223 yr We signed him while he was injured. We also signed Pulisic fully knowing that he might turn out to be injury prone which became true. We're apparently signing Nkunku while he's injured too. I can't think of any other club doing this kind of business.

The difference is Kante is nine years older, and has played nearly every single game for three seasons in a row. Considering his style of play and intensity, what is happening to him right now isn't much of a surprise after all, people were talking about this even a couple of years ago. As for Fofana if he's that injury prone at a young age, this could be another one in a sea of questionable decisions by Boehly & co.

Rolling the dice to gain an advantage over clubs who’d rather assess the player post-major injury maybe, but nonetheless.. it’s back firing time and time again.
December 20, 20223 yr Impossible to look forward to anything Chelsea related anymore. Every time I check up on anything, it's bad news. Every game we go away with a fresh injury and they seem to be getting more and more serious. We won't have much of a squad left if this keeps up. Top 4 was always a tough ask with how we were playing, we'll be lucky to finish in the top 10 with all of these injuries.

More than he is now where Kante is now in his career.

But we continue to buy players that are either injured or are injury prone. Such a poorly run club in this regard

The club must have seen him playing in a mask and thought "Playing with injury - check" 😉
December 20, 20223 yr Lost for words. Unbelievable bad luck and/or an injury prone player on our hands. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery and minor setback, but it’s increasingly difficult to be optimistic right now. We’re almost at one major injury every 2-3 games - what is happening.
December 20, 20223 yr Some rumours of an ACL injury that requires surgery, though not a rupture that is a potential career ender like Brojas.

This is just one of many braindead factors. You can't possibly look at our last transfer windows and think any of them made any sense. The ONLY positive is Barcelona being even more stupid and signing Kounde and Raphina for crazy amounts. Both are mediocre at best. Kounde looked absolutly garbage against an ageing Di Maria on his last legs. Would rather have Marcos Alonso at full back than this guy (ok, slight exaggeration). Raphina did nothing during the entire WC and looks like crap playing for Barcelona as well. We tricked Barcelona into thinking these guys are actually good players. Thank god.

Di maria made most defenders look stupid. He is very under rated that lad. Second best player for Argentina when fresh and has been for years.

Hardly underrated. Di Maria was considered one of the best wingers in the world during his prime. But he is 34 now. Left PSG on a free transfer and has been in decline for a while now if you look at his club performances.
December 21, 20223 yr I'm really starting to think our physio team are doing something very wrong. This reminds me exactly of Rudiger a few years ago. He picked up a knee injury that had him out for a few months, first game back, and he suffers the same injury again. The same thing has now happened to Fofana, and they aren't the only ones. Kovacic, Kante, Ziyech, Pulisic, etc. All of these players come back from an injury and almost instantly get injured again. When Kante leaves at the end of the season, I wouldn't be surprised if he manages to play a full season injury free. When our players get injured, they don't seem to be recovering properly before playing again. Edited December 21, 20223 yr by Scott Harris

With regards to knee injuries, Chilwell, Broja, Fofana, and James, etc all lunged into challenges because of our pressing game. Maybe its something the coaching staff needs to bring into attention, as I don't see City, Liverpool, Arsenal or any one else suffering the same amount of knee injuries as we are.
