September 4, 20223 yr Still don’t understand why he didn’t choose his favourite number but there you go, wish club football just copied national teams and had 1-11 mandatory. 😢
September 5, 20223 yr James and Fofana will work on their understanding. No doubt they will have many games together on our right side. I am curious if Fofana called to James to let him take on the header that led to the disallowed goal. He was in a much better position, James momentum meant he could only head in thar direction, so he should not have made that choice. Did he get a shout or did Fofana just leave it to him? Could have he helped him out? It was an easy header for Fofana. When we have a back 3 I don't know why Reece was in Fofanas position like that in the first place. Almost cost us dear.
September 5, 20223 yr I see Fofana and James striking up a partnership similar to Cole and Terry. They'll be playing next to each other for the next 6-7 years at least you'd imagine now.
September 5, 20223 yr I was so impressed with Fofana on Saturday, dealt with everything on his side with minimal issue, moved the ball well and not afraid to get stuck into a tackle. There was an instance in the second half where he won the ball high up the pitch and set us up a decent counter attack opportunity, which unfortunately we didn't take advantage of. Early days but good signs so far.

September 6, 20223 yr How is he that slow that he can't get back to defend someone who's name ends in IC?
September 7, 20223 yr 2 games, 2 big mistakes and both should have cost us. We got away with him not commanding the situation and taking the header away from Reeces effort against West Ham. Today though he and Koulibaly both pressed forward and then he lacked the pace and determination Chalobah would have had to save the situation.

When the Zagreb player broke my assumption was Fofana would catch him and break it up. To his credit he didn’t take the east foul option, and the pace of the Zagreb player with the ball must be commended. Would like to know how fast they were going, simply because of the below article and excerpt which suggests Fofana would now be the quickest player in our squad: https://www.skysports.com/amp/football/news/11668/12675411/wesley-fofana-to-chelsea-world-class-potential-recognised-at-leicester-is-perfect-fit-for-thomas-tuchels-defence No other Chelsea defender came close to Rudiger's top speed of 36.7 kilometres per hour last season. Trevoh Chalobah was closest at 33.2 kilometres per hour. But Fofana changes that. His top speed for Leicester last season was a healthy 34.5 kilometres per hour.
September 7, 20223 yr Both CD at fault, clearly the understanding and communications aren't there, and they probably thought they are in back 3 with Silva somewhere behind them. That guy was fast, not much Fofana could have done about it apart from taking a red. The real issue was what we did or didn't do after concede.

Yeah sure, we saw how good Chalobah is at defending quick players when he let Vardy get in behind time and time again... Let's give Fofana some time, he's had two games and is showing some promising signs. Edited September 7, 20223 yr by True Blue23

I agree, KK made the error IMO. Forfana just wasn’t fast enough to overtake him as the player was pretty fast himself. If he’d taken him out and got himself a red he’d get even more stick than what he’s getting now. We didn’t lose because of Forfana we lost because a 1-0 deficit is beyond us ATM even if there’s 80 minutes left to play.
September 19, 20223 yr Been out of the country for a while so I haven't yet been able to comment on this signing - despite still being highly skeptical of our new owners, I do have to say hats off to Boehly for this signing. Whilst Fofana will obviously take a little bit of time to settle in, and a while longer to mature into his full potential, he is comfortably our signing of the summer.
October 5, 20223 yr Hoping to see a run of games for Fofana. Candidly thought he was slightly quicker than what we have seen, so hopefully that pace is there. Got blamed for the Palace goal at the weekend, but his pass wasn't awful (well read), and a lot happened before the ball went in the net (was a great pass and finish). After the shaky start, I thought he looked quite assured against Palace. Keep going! Edited October 5, 20223 yr by PhilH930

I reckon Wes is done for the season sadly. After his leg break last season that would be pretty devastating.

October 5, 20223 yr Is this bad luck or a reoccurring injury? Waste of 70m if he's out for the season.
October 5, 20223 yr Hopefully it isn't too bad but given the physio came on, treated him and then allowed him to carry on, if it is a bad injury that's really poor from our medical team.

At least Ben and Kurt are showing you cam come back and Wes is young. Is just sh*t after his leg break season.
October 5, 20223 yr Just fully expecting him to be out with the season. Not falling for the same false hope as Chilwell.
October 5, 20223 yr This is devastating to read. Missed the game and fearing the worst after reading this.
