Liverpool haven't been THAT good. Utd have bottled today. Pathetic performance from them.

That’s good to know. I never watched it because I can’t stand either team. But there is nothing worse than a gloating scouser, let’s hope it’s a one off

Anybody that rates Shaw over Chilwell doesn't know what they are talking about. That performance from Shaw was the worst of his career in a career where he has had many performances similar to that. Mourinho was right about him.

Liverpool look odds-on for top 4 after that.

Damn, I despise Liverpool

They were always bound to turn it around. Klopp is far too good of a manager to have this current rot in form continue as long as it's had.

Issue right now is next season and the desperate rebuild they need.

Pool within touching distance of top 4. No doubt that with a better manager we would've been competing for 3-4.

Without doubt.

Even in the last month, if we had wins against West Ham, Southampton and Tottenham we'd be level on points with Liverpool and Spurs, and with a game in hand on Spurs.

Sadly our manager has spent his whole career with the goal of "improving players" instead of winning football matches ...

Apart from Salah, and Gapko, Nunes and Robertson and TAA, weren’t to shabby, I’m not sure Allison was even playing, so yea they were ok

Anyone know why we might have targetted Madueke over Gakpo, when both are young, and PSV were selling both for similar money ?

Don't know much about either, albeit a quick bit of research shows that Madueke has by far the worse injury history and scoring record (when fit) of the pair ...

Hopefully, assuming he gets a chance to play, Madueke will prove to be a good signing. Gakpo has certainly hit the ground running though ...

A lot of the players we have signed are very odd and I do have a bit of a concern about most of them. Madueke, Chukwuemeka, Gusto, Mudryk, Enzo, Badiashile, the two Fofana's, none of these players even have 100 appearances at senior level yet. We have spent a massive amount of money on potential and even if we get the right coach in, there is no guarantee that half of these players will ever be good enough. If they do end up reaching that level, then that would be some of the finest scouting of young players I have ever seen.

I must admit I had similar "raising of the eyebrow" for just about all of these. Also Casadei (who had never even played for any senior team) and Slonina.

I would be amazed if pretty much all of them couldn't have been signed for half (or less) of what Todd paid for them. I felt Marina was a poor negotiator at times, but Boehly is different level altogether. He just seems to ask how much the selling club wants, and then not only is he happy to pay that, but he bungs a few extra millions on top for some reason as well.

Apparently the same thing happened at LA Dodgers, so he obviously feels it is an approach that works ...

Great result for the Pool 😁

I do hope Potter and the team study how they got their 7 goals.

And especially how they pressed Utd for 90 minutes (not the first 20 like we do atm)

And how fast their midfield/defense get the ball up the pitch after Utd attacked and failed...

And how fast they move the ball

And how they play it in to the danger zone without looking up all the time to check someone is there to play it to

Chelsea are like a Volvo compared to the Pool Ferrari we saw against Utd.

Elite managers usually come out fighting when under pressure, especially against bitter rivals. They certainly didn't hold back after 2:0 up, not even after 5 up. Klopp won't fancy us for a variety of reasons, but let's throw crazy money at him if he decides to take a break from liverpool.

I could add and study how not to react when it isn't going your way, seems we have a few "Fernandez Types" in our squad.

It was a genuine WTF moment when I woke up and saw the Liverpool and United score.

Unfortunately, Liverpool look bound for top 4 now. Newcastle are fading away, and Spurs always find a way to bottle it.

The only result I can think of in recent times that was as much of a surprise as that one was the World Cup Semi Final in 2014 when Germany dicked Brazil 7-1, and were 5 up in under half an hour .

Very surprised United capitulated like that against their fiercest rivals, albeit they did also lose 5-0 and 4-0 to Liverpool last season LOL, but then they were an absolute shambles that season of course ... 🙂

We've been well off the pace this season, but at least Potter has had us mostly defensively sound enough to avoid any really bad beatings, Brighton away and Man City FA Cup games excluded LOL

I would credit that to the leadership of T. Silva. He keeps the defence calm and focussed. He's our most important player at the moment.

I look at some of these players and the price we paid just doesn't match whatever potential they were showing at their former clubs. Enzo and Mudryk have that bit of something special about them, so I can understand why we paid big to get them (but even they were signed for too much money) but the likes of Madueke and Chukwuemeka just look like your bog standard player that just got promoted from the Championship. David Fofana could be the same too and maybe this is why he's not playing. I've tried to put it to the back of my mind, but I feel like most of these players would have been signed for around £10m by Roman and then shipped out on loan because they weren't good enough for the 1st team.

How many times have a team actually conceded 6 in a half in the PL?

Off the top of my head I can only think of us doing it to Wigan, I don't think even Derby 07/08 did.
