Raphinha to Chelsea

Wait, Romano just said Barcelona only gave Leeds a verbal agreement.

Imagine the scenes if they can't fulfill it.

if they can't we should offer Leeds 15 million up front for Raphinha and 250.000k for every goal he scores upwards to 20 million, so if he scores 80 goals for us they will get about 35 million pounds. and otherwise he can stay at Leeds or go to Arsenal

I doubt Todd would be too happy to hear from Deco "can you wait a month please, so we can see if Barca can come through" lol

Leeds, Barca, Deco and Raphinha can screw themselves. We should find a replacement ASAP.

Supposedly all now agreed by both clubs ... assume Leeds happy with a lower fee than we were offering as they won't now have to play against him.

Hadn't realised so many of his goals last season were penalties ... maybe we have dodged a bullet on this one ?

Onwards and upwards ... to Rafael Leao ! Cash plus Ziyech might appeal to Milan ?

Or make overtures towards Serge Gnabry ? Surely we can get Giroud, Fabregas and Cole to persuade him that there is a far better life in London outside Arsenal :-)

I still can't work out how that can pay any money to another club for other players if they owe back wages to existing and past players. Surely De JOng has creditor status if he is still owed 17m of back wages. And hav ethey actuall paid Messi up yet.

What soe of financial regulation do they have in Spain

Yes it's all very strange ... you'd think De Jong's, Messi's and Pique's lawyers (and whichever other players are also owed wages) would be all over them like a rash ...

Doesn't seem to alter the fact that Raphinha is a dead duck as far as being a target for us is concerned ... I am looking on the bright side, in that if you were offered one of Gnabry, Leao and Raphinha back in the January window, you'd probably have had Raphinha in 3rd place ...

Also going to be interesting to see if they are able to go ahead with their new contract offer to Ousmane Dembele now ...

I'd have taken him as he would have provided something a bit different, but that said it's nowhere near the end of the world that we didn't land him.  Leao would be ideal but is probably out of our reach and Gnabry is staying loyal to his Arsenal roots for what ever reason.  It would be nice to get either of those two but if not we still need someone I feel.  Who that is after any of those three I don't honestly know.

Barca have been buying B grade players for the last few years, think this guy is another one.  He's young enough to improve but he's currently not a superstar.  Not massively upset by this one.

Same. I wasn't against signing him, but I wasn't exactly excited by the prospect either. He's decent, but I don't think he is a player that would change much.

and with a potential back line containing Azpi, Christensen and Alonso, it hardly strikes fear into our hearts, with all due respect to them. After all we've just spent an entire season saying how over the hill and bl00dy rubbish they are.
