Does make you wonder wha the appeal can be for ll these agents, moving all of their players to a financially unstable, murky/corrupt environment. After all what could posisbly be in it for them.

Only football club in the world trying to conduct transfer dealings using Klarna!

I suppose all they see is their own fee paid up front, and then potentially another fee in a couple of years moving their player somewhere else if it all goes tits up, and they couldn't give a rats arse whether their player is paid or fobbed off with "deferred wages" in the interim ...

The entire game is in dire need of salary caps and ceilings on agent commission (or better still the agent is paid only by the player and not the club signing him)

In the real world, if a company was haemorrhaging money,  and was in huge financial difficulty that represented a genuine existential threat in the short to medium term ... you'd have to be borderline insane to give up a well paid job elsewhere and go and join them.

Are all these player agents a bit stupid or something ?

Meh if he's talented he will always be able to quickly find another club.

That's the difference between your scenario and this.  If your company goes bankrupt you have to go looking for another comparable job which might take time.

If Barca goes under and he's not under contract to anyone anymore he will get signed on a free the next day.

It sounds to me like this guy just really wants to play in a Barca shirt.  I think it's silly because Barca isn't going to be winning any big trophies any time soon.  But if being able to go and tell people that he played for Barca is more important than actually winning trophies then more power to him.

It genius really sell your player to Barca take your cut of the signing on fee, wait for Barca to go bankrupt next season then sell your player to the highest bidder, again taking a nice cut of the transfer fee.  Win win.

Forgot who reported it but I saw a tweet saying Raphinha would be happy to join Chelsea if the Barca move failed. Think Jacobs or Phillips liked/retweeted it.

I remember reading at the time that his preference was us over Arsenal at least. That would indicate that he was prepared to consider options beyond Barcelona, if it came down to it. I am not convinced that he would want to stay at Leeds out of protest.

Yeah I saw that too. Also saw something along the lines of Leeds wanting this matter solved sooner and wanted an acceptable Barca offer on the table today as they need it to cover their transfer business.

I would really love Todd Boehly to come out now, today and say that our offer is officially withdrawn and that Deco is no longer welcome at Stamford Bridge or Cobham after his PROMISE to Barcelona that no deal from Chelsea would be accepted.  I pray that Barca fail to get the money for him, nobody else wants him except Arsenal for about £50 quid and he ends up getting relegated with Dirty Leeds.

haha .. personally if he don't want to be here then f**k him ... I don't care how good or bad he really is !

Spot on

I still hope this happens. I know he dreams of Barcelona but I don't really care about that. Hazard made it clear pretty early on he was going to end up at Real Madrid and still gave us the best years of his career. Courtois was flirting with Real Madrid for most of his Chelsea career and we still got 4 good/ decent years out of him. The way he left was questionable but we can't deny he still performed well for us more often than not.

If Raphinha comes here, gives us 3-4 good years and then moves on to Barcelona, then so be it. I don't think he will come here and sulk about the fact he isn't playing for Barcelona.

If it happens then I think we will have signed a very good player, but if he doesn't come here then it's not the end of the world.

Apparently TT is talking to him tonight in attempt to get an agreement reached.

Terms with Leeds already fully agreed and waiting for signature. Verbal terms agreed with Deco for Raphinha just waiting for final acceptance to write up the contract and sign.

TT wants him and Sterling to go to the US with the squad.

TT accepts De Ligt, Ake, Kounde or any other CB deals too far away and they won't start the tour with us.

Leeds have signed his replacement Colombia winger Luis Sinisterra from Feyenoord for 21 million quid.

Barcelona have put in a bid for the bloke at Bayern. Are they really going to sign Raphina and Lewa and pay to keep Dembele?

Barcelona no closer to a full agreement with Leeds for Raphinha. Joan Laporta says “no deadline” to complete the deal but Leeds have asked Barca to present latest offer by Thursday. Leeds have already brought in Luis Sinisterra to replace Raphinha and want his future resolved.

Laporta on Dembélé's situation: “We are in a situation of uncertainty. At the moment we still can't sign him up. We are talking to players who are interested asking them to wait for us. Ousmane is not a Barça footballer, but we made him an offer for a sporting interest” #FCB #CFC

Bayern Munich have told FC Barcelona they don't want any installments in any deal for Robert Lewandowski and that they want all the money upfront in cash because Bayern believes that FC Barcelona won't exist in "one or two years' time". #fcblive #fcbayern [@honigstein] pic.twitter.com/MIBgrCxgpl

1 billion in debt, 2 billion, 5, 10, 100 they don't care lol, they just get players to sign and then defer wages lol

Probably end up with the players paying Barcelona for the privilege of playing for them !

With ideas like that you should be on the Barca board!

Though you may have to pay for the privilege...

Ben Jacobs also reported that Leeds were really impressed with Bohley. Friendly, no BS, trying to make relationships work etc. Seems to have made a good impression

Evening standard are saying both Leeds and Chelsea are pressing Raphinha for an answer and expect it within 24 hours.

Goes along with earlier stories TT talked to him tonight and we hope to have him fly out to the US with us on Saturday.
