Both deadline day to the wire deals imo.

Gonna be out for weeks due to broken jaw suffered during the robbery at his home, which is now adding to complications of signing him.

Jees that's awful. I imagine the mental scars of that attack will take a lot longer than that to heal as well, if they ever do ... 

I imagine that will be the end of this particular transfer ... TB probably moved on to Zaha instead ? or Ronaldo LOL. Be great of the Neymar rumour bore fruit ..

I personally am in favour of giving Broja 3 or 4 games in a row to show what he can do. I would drop Mount and play Havertz in his position

It certainly complicates things when Auba was being looked at as a shorter term signing. Perhaps we will do something totally crazy and actually give Broja a run of starts 😉

Mount has been the one to suffer from Sterling joining. Mount is not a right wide player whatever else he is. He doesn't have the pace to beat his man on the outside and he doesn't have the left foot to cut inside. Its hard on him but that's what's happened. Havertz isn't playing much better but at least he has the left foot and has more experience playing wide right.

Fair point. Is Mount going to become Sterling's backup in that case? Or do you think he could work in a different position?

he needs to adapt his game a bit 

Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang suffered a minor fracture of his jaw in the attack on his home over the weekend. 

He is expected to be out of action for three weeks. Aubameyang can resume non-contact training next week. 

Chelsea are aware and sympathetic of his situation.

It is thought the injury will not impact a potential transfer as talks continue between Chelsea and Barcelona to get a deal done. 

Poor Bloke. But it would be madness for us to sign an injured player. Especially as he is a 'stop gap'. So hopefully the Auba deal is over.

It's a shame that we have had all summer to find a striker but we are  still stuck on this 33 year old with no plan B.

There is also the damage psychological he and his family went through. I hope and pray he and his family heals and are able to overcome it.

Football wise though it is a big red flag and we should move on, who knows how long it will affect him for.

If Barcelona were a half decent club they would allow him to go on loan to us so he can change his environment and recover from this traumatic event.

Again, no issues on player side as he agreed personal terms with Chelsea. It’s about deal structure. Still on.

Stop-gap signing to not have an embarressing season without many goals!

He is 33, has 4 years on Zaha! We might as well sign CR7! or even Costa while we're there!

With his recovery (mentally) from the horrors his family and he were subjected to this signing has become a much bigger risk.

If he needs a year or more (which is perfectly reasonable) to sort himself and his family out then he would be just another forward not contributing. 

From a human side of things helping him and his family out is a very decent thing to do if we can. On the football side of things we are nuts imo.

In Tuchels time with us he has gotten rid of Giroud ,Abraham , Lukaku and Werner . I honestly will take any of them over Aubemeyang , except may be Lukaku . I dont get why Tuchel thinks 33 year old Aubameyang is the same as the 26 year old he coached.

Abraham not as good at linking up play, and we thought Lukaku was the answer. Werner couldn't finish.

better mentality and younger, has something to prove at a bigger club and hasn't really been playing in a team that has the majority of the ball possession  

 

Is the Auba deal off now that news of the broken jaw has emerged? Apparently not. Barcelona want his wages gone as a matter of urgency so a loan to buy deal may be an option.  So, okay, IF he comes, he will be a loan.  But he is still injured and all sorts of PTSD.
