Maybe should start with a team and formation to suit, rather than 5 outfield players out of position, just shoved in to fit his rubbish, tedious style and formation.

Bit late to the party here but which formation would you have gone with, with this squad dkw?

For me one quick glance at our available defenders is enough to realize that a back three is the only option currently. It may change if we land for example Fofana but as of right now I think Tuchels hand is forced.

I know they took the piss royally today and players didn’t honor this fixtures significance to both fan bases.  But apart from Arse, City & Spuds other top 6 teams have had slip ups as well. Was always going to be hard with the EPL early start and the lack of key signings.
TT has a part of the collapse he just can’t blame players mistakes.

The coach has no tactics whatsoever!

Non! He just can't see it. Personally this was a game where we should have man marked & held possession

Just got back from Leeds. As I imagined, we played well against Spurs only to slip back to being dreadful against a team that fought and wanted it more. The moment I saw Silva and Reece fighting each other, I knew something was wrong, and instants after they scored their first after a defensive brainfart (yeah, I know Mendy tried stupidly to dribble but that back pass did not put him in a good position). From then on, they just wanted it more than us and believed in themselves. Cracking atmosphere and their supporters, as dreadful as Leeds supporters are, took them to the next level today. We also were on top form, especially during the first half.

Next, Leicester, and I hope charity FC does not show up and we revert to being great mode. Come on Chels!

Not sure how anything can be levelled at that back pass to be honest. He ultimately had plenty of time to adjust. What makes it worse was he did the same against w**k Ham last season which also cost us.

Fair enough, I just thought at the moment that James (I think it was him) had other options, and if you’ve got a keeper who’s not good with his feet, we should stop that. He tried to be clever and it went horribly wrong, should have kicked the ball to row z, definitely, but maybe the defenders should have tried to move forward rather than the constant back passing. With the times we pass to the keeper, chances are that it’s going to go wrong sometimes.

Cech was never the best with his feet but acknowledged that it wasn't his job. He would have just lumped it and if anyone raised an eyebrow....tough.

Players should play in the positions that they are best at and players should only do teh jobs th athey are comfortable doing. Don't take stupid risks if you're sh*t with your feet.

I’m not going to blame Tuchel, or any of the forwards, the midfield, defence, or the system, for that loss. I just have one thing I want to say…

Why the hell didn’t Mendy just clear it up the pitch? What in god’s name was he thinking of?

3 weeks in, already in crisis mode. First goal was a complete give away from the keeper, what's after that was utterly disgrace from the whole team. The players just didn't turn up, sure it's not possible to play like last Sunday every week, but WTF was that? Are we blaming it on Kante not there, or lack of strikers? We didn't even create that much. Simple set pieces we f* it up. Switching to back 4 completely exposed the reason we been on back 3, we just couldn't manage with 2 defenders with combined age of around 70. F* the top 4 and Europe, this one will take months to get over

if Roman was still the boss Tuchel would be on notice now. Chelsea were great against Spurs! says it all with the whole rivalry thing. Luckily this was an early defeat which can be rectified with some acquisitions and injured players returning. I dont get this push from some for reece to be a centre back though. not the greatest defender in my opinion, I would rather he were a midfield player. Hopefully Connor Gallagher gets another opportunity and isnt sent out just for this performance but with Chelsea I wouldnt be surprised. On we go!

The reality of RLC at RWB hit home today, Mendy gets the headlines for the error and the usual punching bags but not enough talk about the elephant in the room. He lacks so much quality, I almost feel like Tuchel is doing it as a bit of a protest to demonstrate the lack of depth there compared to the left side now. We really need to get this Fofana deal sorted so Reece can go back to his best position but even then.. we need proper backup.

Great atmosphere through the TV for this one (I have Fubo TV now so cracking start for my viewing season...). Is great Leeds are still in the top flight, they are our true created rivals. Not because of local proximity but by history and pure animosity.

In spite of that kudos to them and their manager, they ran their socks off for the cause and deserved that.

Anyways on us:

Mendy either needs to stop messing about with the ball at his feet, I.e. just clear it down one side, or he needs to be replaced. We laugh at what De Gae has turned in to, and Mendy is becoming a laughing stock in his own right. He needs to fix it or we need to make a change.

Koulibaly had a poor game, even poorer was how he got himself almost deliberately sent off. Shameful.

Cucurella is to attacking what Emerson is to defending.

Gallagher was awful, so our midfield is basically none existent without either Kante or Kovacic still. An issue not addressed.

Our forward line is still pathetic. 3 games no goals for any of them.

Timo Sterling or Raheem Werner? Take your pick, when onside he cannot hit a barn door, when offside Brazilian Ronaldo eat your heart out.

Mase has started the season terribly.

Havertz is even worse. Another problem not addressed.

Under Roman TT would not be our manager anymore IMO.

I think Tuchel wants to prove that he can be the Chelsea manager to finally get something out of Loftus Cheek. We’ve been here before. Successive managers have tried. None have succeeded. Maybe the reality is that he’s actually not going to be the player we all hoped for.

The others to benefit from today’s fiasco, apart from Leeds, are probably Leicester who are likely to get another 10million added on to Fofana’s transfer fee. We really are going to have to put up and shut up. Same applies to Aubameyang and De Jong.

Overall, a very expensive day out in Yorkshire. I doubt Todd Boehly will be pleased.

I don't and think this is why we are trying to get Fofana so James can go back to RWB with RLC back as utility man on the bench.

Post of the year. Succinct and poignant. A Chelsea fan who has the ability to take the rise - colored glasses off and see the true picture.

I keep reading about how great we were against Spurs; yes we were good because Spurs / Conte allowed us to be.  They sat back and surrendered 60% of the pitch for the most part and were relying on the counter attack.  We were awful against Everton and were gifted a penalty and despite the plaudits of last week our disaster class continued this week.

Look, we are 3 games in, we had turbulence during the summer and no one really knew how we would come out the other side.  Thankfully Todd and his team have been good to their word and spent some money, albeit on 2nd choice targets although Sterling was a first choice.  But what is mystifying is that we bin Lukaku and Werner because TT doesn't fancy them, or could not be bothered to change his ideas in order to play to their strengths but then doesn't prioritize an out and out striker as a replacement until the window is 3/4 of the way done, and then tries to, and continues to negotiate with a team that has been f**king us up and down since day one.  Surely there are  still other options out there. But strangely even at this late hour, we decide to only budget £20 mill for a striker, but want to spend £80+ mill on a defender when TT has defenders at the club even after he's already spent £60 mill on a LWB and another £30+mill on an aged CB.  If PEA doesn't come off this week we should be truly worried as to where the goals are going to come from other than playing Sterling down the middle.

We have also been crying out for a creative midfielder since Fabregas left and a CDM to cover for Kante although his role lately isn't playing entirely as cover for the back 3.  Clearly TT has an obsession with wing backs that has resulted in the demise of CHO, Ziyech, Pulisic, all out and out wingers by all accounts, now all out bench warmers.  I assume in his mind he wants wingers that can defend as well as go forward, neither of these 3 can do that.  I find though that most wing backs I've seen are either good at one thing, but not so good at the other. They are either transformed wingers with no sense of defending, or defenders with little sense of attacking. As good as Reece and Chillwell they both lack in one area or another.  But when the wing backs are not stifled what is the point of crossing the ball if there is no-one consistently in the centre, surely that position should have been a priority, not an Havertz afterthought.

Havertz isn't a centre forward, Mount isn't as good on the right side as he is the left, Jorginho cannot play against a team that will press him each and every time he's got the ball, we have seen that time and time again. Gallagher is not a CDM and he would have been better of playing Ampadu today than Connor in that role with RLC also in the middle to add some strength, so WTF was TT thinking before the game; that Leeds were simply going to allow us to control the possession; and even after the first manic 10-15 minutes and things didn't settle down TT simply sat on his hands and throughout the first half seemingly changed nothing that would give Leeds more to think about. Leeds continually cut through the midfield with ease continually robbing Gallagher and running past Jorginho as if he wasn't there, apart from a flailing leg as an after thought.  It was clear the middle of the park needed shoring up, but nothing changed.  But if we are to believe TT's take on the game, we were in control, although I am not entirely sure of what.   The less said about Mendy the better...I think in games like this we should be allowed to yank the keeper, like the MLB or the NHL where the pitchers and goal tenders get yanked when they or the team f**k up as a wake up call to the other players.

The next week or so before the window shuts will be crucial to this season, let's see what the wind blows in.

Our attacking has been awfull so far. Mount needs to be dropped. Havertz needs to be dropped. Pulisic can not be allowed to be on the pitch. Zieych can not be allowed to be on the pitch. Broja is injured and hasn't shown anything. That leaves us with...

At some point you have to point at the manager.  If it was one or 2 players sucking ot would be one thing.  When everyone only seems to get worse you have to ask questions about the manager.

Maybe Lukaku was right about the system.  Not saying he should run his mouth in an interview.

This team one year ago fresh off the Champions League win was blowing teams out, and save for Rudiger every major player from there is either available now or given away by Tuchel.  Tuchel spent 300 million quid over 2 summer transfer windows and made the team worse.

Save this comment to your clipboard. You'll need to copy and paste this a few times this season.. Southampton away for example and then at home to West Ham

West Ham at home - Zero points, zero goals, bottom of the table, Expect a Worldie performance from Rice and the Hammers in that one.
