New manager merry go round

You think the egos at this club want to play for Potter? They will down tools the first chance they get and the usual excuses like "Chelsea was too big for him" will come out. None of these players want to play for Potter, and he will be gone by next season if he gets the job.

They were hardly playing for Tuchel either to be honest. Tools were getting downed faster than a Frenchman on his weekly strike

If Zidane wants the job it seems to me like a slam dunk hiring.  Granted the EPL is a bit tougher than La Liga, but he kept a team full of highly priced players getting results.  He would probably be the top of my list.  The bigger question is if he's interested in the job, he hasn't really coached outside of Madrid despite a resume that would make him a coveted manager.

Pochettio I'm kind of weary about.  Was not terribly competitive in the CL despite all of the attacking talent that money can buy.  So to me it's a big question as to if he can unite the locker room.

Potter seems to be unproven and untested.  Not sure if a guy who has done a good job with an under-dog team will be able to translate his abilities to managing a team that is stocked with heavy talent.

Get f**king Bielsa in, we'll never get another chance

I mean he won't do it due to his principles (previous association with Leeds, working for an American), but we should at least try. We'll win nothing and come 8th but it'll be the most fun any of us have had since the 90s.

Poch is a Bielsa knock off anyway

To be honest I think one of the main reasons we had so many issues with player power is because they knew that the board always sided with the players, with this new ownership it might be that the players don't have that any more. This decision to get rid of Tuchel was solely down to them, if what's reported is true no players had a clue this was happening.

I also think that the modern day footballer prefers to play in a team that's 'enjoyable' to play in where they're given more freedom. Some of the managers we've had over the years have been the opposite, think Jose, Conte and Tuchel where players down tools quicker if they're told to play like robots.

This is all opinion of course but we have a mainly young, talented team so bringing in a young manager with an attacking focus COULD be the answer and if given full backing by the board, both money wise and power over the players this could work out well but we'll see.

All that says to them is that if they want to get rid of the manager they just need to play poorly over a relatively short period of time and they will get their wish.

We've turned the gun on ourselves and pulled the trigger, again.

Umm hate to say it but if you have a team that collectively no longer wants to play under a certain manager than that manager should probably go.

Players are not going to play hard if they all hate the manager.

That would be true if we'd got rid of him because of the poor results but by the sounds of it, it wasn't.

Some of the most legendary managers in the game were hated by some players, but those players were the ones who would be got rid of, not the manager, that's what made them great managers, they had total power.

Under that logic, Fergie would have been fired half way through his stint at United.

I am not sure you can compare the eras now.  Players seem to have a lot more power these days.

Besides I'm not sure players **COLLECTIVELY** didn't want to play under Ferguson.  They always played hard for him.

Let's give the Southampton manager a try. We know he appreciates James Ward-Prowse already, right @Valerie and @Munkworth 🙂

Hey, I won last year's Zeta Prediction League, I should be in the running! I know terms like expansive and pivot, I know about lucky socks. Slam dunk.

A little sad to see Tuchel get the boot, but we've turnt into a festering turd of a team performance wise for a good while now.

Excited to actually see some kind of change or reaction within the team whoever it is who comes in.

He's rode out two 9-0 defeats and kept his job there. He is armour plated and knows which side his bread is buttered.
