Maybe the plan is to offload both Lukaku and Sterling to free up wages. That is £600kpw free which if rumors are to be true Osimhen just wants £250kpw.

Plus Kepa and Chilwell and that's freed up a million a week give or take. You can see why they would want to go down that route. We get pretty shocking value for money from our current top ten earners ...  🙂 

I see they've put 18 year old Guiu on £100K a week according to Capology as well ... no wonder he was keen to come !

Kepa will see out his last year, bank that huge wage nobody else will give him, then return to Spain with mid table side imo.

Chilly won't find a buyer in such short a spell left either imo.

Good, though the offer sounds pretty rubbish, 21mill plus 4 mill add ons.

Still it saves us a bunch on wages so we deal with it, and the owners can at least blame this huge error on Roman, unlike with Sterling.

Some out of date figures in there. Lukaku took a serious pay cut to go to Roma.

I am getting to the point of desperation where we need to get it done. Jackson as a #2 + LW option and Guiu rotation for Conference League + early round cup matches.

Just send him out on loan. If this deal goes through Jackson will be gone next summer, and there will be loads of interest. For the club’s sake just hope Osimhen isn’t another Torres.

As a top level club we should be able to handle 3 strikers in our squad. 

Hughes, Vialli, Zola and Flo were all in the same squad at one point.  Anelka, Drogba and those other blokes. . .

I imagine this will get dragged out to the last day of the window, Apparently, PSG are no longer interested so his choices are limited to us or Saudi.

Hope it happens, he'll improve us and it's a good influence for Jackson to learn from.

Supposedly we are still interested in Toney and he would likely be available for under 50m if he stays in Premier League. Saudis are still favorites to get him A lot could depend on wages, but you could make a case for him even as an older player. We have a few younger strikers so maybe this buys a few years for them to develop.

So our strategy seems to be to sell Lukaku to Napoli then wait to see if Osimhen is all out of options and hope he changes his mind about a loan deal.

That hardly shows much confidence in the player. I wouldn’t blame him if he tells us to sod off.

And i can't work out why Napoli would commit money that they don't have to buying Lukaku if there is a possibility that they could get lumbered with Osimhen come the close of the window.

Genuine question, is this vicky bloke really that good? You've got mikel going nuts just because he wants him and I've seen a vid a while back. Obviously he doesn't have the experience of the PL but is this about potential again or is he good now?

I agree with the posters below...it would be great if we could get someone experienced to lead the line and show Jackson and guiu the ropes. I've posted before I wish giroud was younger and still playing for us because he would be perfect as a mentor, even Drogba (not Costa, lol).

We need someone that can do the business now and be able to nurture the talent we have.

Could toney do it? Or is Osimhen better?

I think there is no direct formula to make success certain and we should get the best we can do in this moment, for me thats looking like oshimen. He may take off, he may not. But drogba was also playing in a weaker league before he became a legend here. Lets be open minded.

Stop signing thrashers.
