Honestly, if Napoli have dropped their reported asking price from €110m to €65m, that’s a pretty good deal for one of the best strikers in the world. The question is whether he’s willing to compromise on his wage demands which should be possible if it includes incentivised clauses to fit into our new wage structure.

In whose opinion? Apart from his.

If they are stars they get paid a lot of money.

Id they are flops they get paid less.

It's more heavily incentive based than standard contracts.

Or so we are told.

We are told that but if our wage structure is capped at £200k/week then we'll always lose out to the PSGs or Real Madrids who offer £500k/week, incentives be damned.

On going talks.

Weirdly he doesn't fit into our wage structure, he isn't super keen BUT no other big club is after him and he doesn't want to go to Saudi.

So basically if this happens it is weird.

We will always lose out to Madrid. They are a much bigger club than we are.

PSG could have got Osimhen but chose not to.

I think he does want us, but he was hoping to get more money than we would offer

Hasn't he only been on this money for 1 year as part of his contract extension.

Seems like there’s risk he just pulls a big rom, gets here, eats burgers, plays til December, does an interview and then demands to go back to Napoli. Securing them profit and his newly enhanced wages (from last year extension) paid by us…

Confidence has dropped in this one from last night. Saudi must be getting g some encouragement if they are travelling to Italy, and €30m per season for 4 years is outrageous.

Agent obviously will get a massive pay day if he goes Saudi too.

Prefer Osimhen to Toney for a few reasons, but we have created a wage structure, and any signing has to fit into it.

We will see, but I'm not too optimistic.

Toney decent fall back option, but not played much football for 12 months, and we saw how much effect Diego Costa at the same age. Never the same player after those 6 months I'm brazil waiting to move back to Atletico.

Think its over and good riddance. Obvious we aren't going to agree on terms. If Osimhen wanted this move he'd be here.

Thank fk for the wage structure...bye bye, have fun in Saudi.  💰 🤑

No sour grapes if he does move to Saudi I've been flip flopping on if he is the right player for us for a while, but I would advise Victor is to get rid of his agent.  From the outside it looks like he's been advised to take this stupid contract from Napoli then farmed out to the highest bidder rather than trying to find the best solution for his career.  He could have had his pick of team last season and now he's left hoping someone other than the Saudi teams will bow to the ridiculous demands his agent has put in place.  Not taken all the blame away from Victor but it looks like he's been badly advised to me.

Fair play if he turns the Saudis down for us, that money is insane, I'm not overly confident he will though. I just hope if he does go we still get a striker, preferably Toney but wouldn't be surprised if it's Duran.

How much is enough? I feel like if I got paid that much I’d work a couple of years then retire.  I suppose he’s only playing football.
