I mean people thought Salah was sh*t at Chelsea. Mourinho of all people didn't think KDB or Felipe Luis were good enough for Chelsea, so I'll reserve judgement on signings like this. 

The fact that it is being reported that we are dropping the pursuit of Gvardiol to sign this guy, means to me that teh club belive he must be fantastic...playing for an average Monaco side in the french league.

According to Ben Jacobs, the coaching staff and recruitment team like Badiashile's composure on the ball and aerial ability. They feel he will slot right in Potter's system. 

Since I have a hunch this is a Stewart signing, this will be a testament to how efficient our new recruitment team is. 

Rumours Utd and Barca are trying to hijack this transfer.  Can’t see Utd managing to sort out a transfer in less than 12 months, but Barca have a bit of history with this sort of thing.  Probably Monaco rumours to up the price.

Keen to see how he'll go. We don't have anyone remotely aerially dominant (it's Koulibaly's surprisingly big weakness), so Badashile could be a huge boon. 

I think Gvardiol is a good defender but I'm unconvinced he offers anything different to Fofana and co.

Other than being fit and available to play, and proven at International level. Fofana so far is a total and literal crock. Hope he comes good of course, but no longer counting on it.

I mean this is pretty inspiring if we can get consistent performances like this.

According to @BordeauxBluehe is so incompetent he can barley tie his own shoelaces so don't get your hopes up.

Oh I like this one!  He has pace to burn and physically the game is easy to him.  In the above clip he has all the time in the world on the ball, as lets face it PSG forwards have no interest in pressing.  But he seems composed - perhaps the one we should have gone for in the summer over Koulibaly. 

So he’s another central defender, is that right? Presumably a long term replacement for Sliva/Koulibaly.

We have to replace Silva.   Great to give this guy half a season to ease in. Potentially Benny, Fof, Trev, koulibaly, and Colvill for 2-3 spots. 

Agreement made with Monaco Benoit will join us for around £30-35m. From the sounds of this lad he might be a real gem. I'm glad we're going for a name less known it's about time we found someone instead of signing the usual household names that eventually flop.

The prioritization is Enzo Fernandez getting the bulk of our funds for this fiscal year. Gvardiol, now after the World Cup, is priced in the 9 digits. 

Stewart and Vivell are confident in Badiashile's abilities to translate into the Prem. Something avid Ligue 1 supporters disagree with, but I suppose this will be a testament to how good our new recruitment team is. 

 

 

He does have 106 Ligue 1 performances under his belt, and a total of 147 senior career starts.  It makes you wonder why another PL team has not snapped him up already, but the French do have a habit of turning out some very good young defenders.  Fingers crossed he is the next and adapts to the PL well.
