He seems like a completely different player to what I saw in World Cup when we signed him. He's been here half a season longer than Caicedo but I'm much happier with Caicedo. I'm not too happy with either of them to be honest.
September 3, 20241 yr Still not sure what he offers just an Argentinian mark noble without the penalties
September 3, 20241 yr Shame he's not an Academy player, then Maresca can say he's not good enough, doesn't figure in his plans and banish him from the first team .

September 4, 20241 yr Of all the 100+ million footballers very few have been a success after their move. Mbappe has but not too many other than him. Haaland obviously if he went at market value and possibly Rice to Arsenal. Neymar didn’t really do it at PSG. Coutinho at Barca. Hazard at Madrid Grealish at City Griezmann to Barca Felix at Atleti. And both Fernandez and Caicedo at Chelsea. Neither has justified the investment yet. Added to spending a world record on a keeper that Stevie Wonder must have scouted for us we have a horrendous record when spending big on a player. The only consolation is most other clubs are too.
September 4, 20241 yr Still don’t understand our midfield, we spent the best part of £300m on a quartet that lacks power, size and wouldn’t get you 10 league goals in a season. It’s scary:

September 9, 20241 yr If he doesn’t do it for us this season I’d try and move him on. Caicedo and Lavia look to have a nailed on role in the team whereas we are still trying to find a way of getting the best from Enzo. Santos looks like a better fit imo.

Are we even able to move him on? Hate it when we look at transfers through the eyes of finances but wouldn't he still have about £70m book value (i'm sure @terraloon can offer some insight). Realistically is any club paying over £50m for him? Would end up being one of those endless loans.
September 10, 20241 yr As long as Eghbali is still here I can't see Enzo going anywhere ... same for Mudryk.

Steady on, he's still very young and obviously a good player in there somewhere.

I’m not saying he’s a bad player at all. I look at Enzo and i don’t see as big a role for him as he might get elsewhere. I’ve a suspicion he needs the team built around him to get the best out of him and that’s unlikely to happen at Chelsea. I hope he proves otherwise I really do but if he continues with the form he’s shown since he signed then that won’t be good enough I’m afraid.
September 11, 20241 yr Thought he’s been one of the better players last couple of matches. Can build on that.

September 12, 20241 yr He's now been disqualified from driving because of speeding and running a red light (2 separate incidents). He's turning into the Argentinian Ravel Morrison.
