Enzo Fernandez - Officially a Blue!

As a case in point from last game, the amount of lazy through-balls he attempted in the early game, which were simply underhit and careless. Improved later in the game but we've got to see him move from merely 'neat and tidy' to effective.

Oh no, not again!

I feel like he doesn't get enough credit when he has a good game at times, but everyone is quick to swarm on him after a bad/average performance.

He played some excellent passes last game that just kept causing Brighton problems

As of now, when Enzo isn't on the pitch we struggle to progress the ball. Maresca will need to find alternate methods for when Enzo isn't available, like against Bournemouth when Tosin came on at sweeper, outside CB's widened which created a lot of space through the middle for players to work through the channels.

Bournemouth was not a good performance on our end, even though Caicedo was doing well the midfield was just invisible and overrun. That's why the defenders kept making mistakes because they had minimal options through the middle, Veiga didn't know where he was.

With Enzo in the middle you can see the difference, but he still mostly gets slack for his defensive woes rather than the other attributes he brings to the game which I think is unfair tbh.

I like Enzo as a player but not in our system.

I saw that Liverpool are rumoured to be in for Tchouaméni from Madrid for 80 million euros. He’d be perfect in our midfield.

I will honestly be surprised if Enzo is with us next season. He would have thought Chelsea would build a team around him but he’s the one player in the team who seems shoehorned into a position. His current level of performance won’t be enough to play ahead of Lavia and i think Santos will be back to further challenge his position.

it’s a big season for him and he’s not been poor but he definitely needs to improve.

Jorginho started for Arsenal at home yesterday. After 60 minutes, with the game at 1-1 and Arsenal struggling to break Southampton down, Arteta realised the mistake he had made and got him off the pitch. Maresca needs to be big enough and start doing exactly the same when Enzo is sh*te.

He is very similar to Jorginho in many aspects. Hasn't really got any pace, and very little natural athleticism or physicality. His passing range, (with either foot), can be sublime but he needs to offer more than that in the EPL.

Was poor today.

I suppose the fact he was subbed is something because the boss clearly likes him and even made him vice captain.

Deserved to be hooked today.

I was delighted when we signed him but in my opinion he turned out to be poorer than Jorginho. Hope he turns it around but very disappointing performances by Fernandez

Defended him for a long time, but if Lavia is fit we need to see something different.  His lack of physicality is severely limiting his impact on the game.

Such a waste to push a proper midfielder in Conor out to facilitate for this guy. One of the biggest nothing players i've seen at the club and i've yet to see anyone argue what he's actually good at.

At least most seem to be done pretending he's any good. Hopefully it leads to the club replacing him next summer or before with Lavia taking his place in the side.

Will he just keep getting picked regardless of how poor he plays just because of his price tag and him being captain?

Games like to he should be splitting these sides open with his passing range, making game changing assists and secondary assists.

He was a panic buy by Boehly & Ebgbhali because he won the World Cup and the media narrative was mistakenly that he was so good in that Argy team that all the big European clubs would soon be in for him, so some team better get him now before the mad rush. That was enough to make Clearfake pay way way over the odds.  He’s had a handful of good games in a Chelsea shirt and is plainly not good enough to run that midfield. Lots of the teams best performances last season were when he was unavailable. Could he be playing week in week out because the club are desperately trying to maintain his inflated value ? what top team would pay over 50 mill now for his services let alone a 100 ? Only Man United !!  Unfortunately for us, because of that he will keep his place regardless of performing like he did today. Please no more of his 2 bob corners at least (our set pieces on the whole are wasteful, I don’t get why any team wouldn’t practice them to death and profit from them like the Gooners seem to week in week out).

Also worth noting, a lot of the players we have signed have shown signs of improvement since the 2nd half of last season, we aren't seeing that from Enzo. I would argue that all of our current midfield options have improved more than Enzo. Out of all of our midfield options, I currently feel like Enzo is the worst. Who is he better than exactly? Caicedo? no. Lavia? no. Dewsbury-Hall? no, I'm not seeing anything Enzo has done that Dewsbury-Hall can't do. Casadei? again, no. All of these players have shown more this season, even those with limited time, than Enzo has shown all year.

So bored of his performances, clearly the manager's favourite considering how ruthless Maresca had been to other players that haven't performed as bad

Maresca has 120m reason
