Todd is sending a message to himself then ! 😂

Think it shouldn't be underestimated how Pochettino has come in and quickly identified the players that HAD to be moved on - majority of which would have supporters 100% backing. Lukaku, Ziyech, Havertz, Koulibaly, Aubamayeng - was praying they would all be gone. Add Mount and Kovacic to that - two more players who had lost their way and weren't playing for the badge. Only one left I really wanted gone is Cucurella, but don't expect him to get many minutes and maybe we can move him on in January. If I'm totally honest, Sterling was on my list as well, but if Pochettino can get the best out of him as we have seen in the last few games, I'm happy for him to stay and earn his place. That said, a lot of that good work would have been undone if we sold Gallagher, but it looks like he's staying and I'm confident we will be up there challenging as like @Sexyfootballrightly said, a lot of our rivals look weaker and with no European football to distract us, watch us go............................................ COME ON THE CHELS!!!

Why does it have to be so binary? There's not one single manager in the world that would keep a keeper who can't save shots, but it doesn't change the fact a keeper needs to be good in possesion and this day in age.
September 2, 20232 yr I think we are a fair chance of top 4. I expect the second half of the season to be strong and we will have some fun in the first half.

If you need your clubs manager to explain to you the keeper needs to be able to make saves then that's on you. When you go and buy a car do you expect the salesman to tell you it has wheels that go round and round? Pochettino is blatantly talking about what else he needs a keeper to do for f**ks sake.

September 2, 20232 yr Appalled by the setup and approach today. Preseason seems years ago now, and reverting to 8-9 defensive players with some of our more effective players out of position (Enzo, Chilwell) is pointless in every sense of the word. All the changes just end up creating a greater sense of disorganization. What do they actually do in training? Genuine question. I see videos of these cute triangles and romba or whatever that crap is called, but do they actually train with any intensity and practice shooting from a moving ball?
September 2, 20232 yr Liverpool: 65% possession 10 shots: draw 1-1 West Ham: 76% possession 17 shots. lose 3-1 Luton: 68% possession 19 shots, win 3-0 Forest: 76% possession 21 shots, lose 1-0 Honestly I'm not sure Poch is doing a bad job so far, our attackers are just awful aside from Sterling. Why couldn't we sign someone with a proven record of goalscoring? 140m-170m on Mudryk, Jackson (though I like him), and Palmer is ridiculous. They have 44 career goals between them, they aren't going to become goalscorers overnight, if at all. Honestly just getting Mitrovic for 40m would have been better.

It's the bizarre system Poch has put in place though aswell tbf, we're just passing it to Sterling and hoping for the best. With a nonexistent left-hand side expecting Chilwell to do all the work. I know we've got injuries but we can setup better than this, I'm shocked at how defensive we've been under Pochettino, I can excuse our first two fixtures but our last 2 definitely not.
September 2, 20232 yr I think Poch is a mistake anyway from the start If you cannot win the French league as PSG manager, you are a failure to me.

September 2, 20232 yr Team is young and mistakes will happen. It's expected. However, these performances have been frustrating and in all honesty embarrassing. We've ruined the integrity of the game with our spending with virtually nothing to show for it so far. Even more embarrassing that Ange has walked into Spurs and they already performing like a top side. All of the progress we saw in preseason has seemingly vanished. Players now missing sitters and the quality shown in our attack has now gone back to as they were under last years management. 4 points out of 12 in a season where if we don't qualify for Champions League we will suffer some serious repercussions. Obviously only 4 matches in with several injuries but its annoying that we now have to wait 2 weeks before our next match and see if there's been any improvement.

Yes, we want a manager that can win the league, Ancelotti never was a manager that dominants the league in his career. His Milan side despite winning multiple CL titles only won the league once in his reign
September 2, 20232 yr Just another sh*thouse manager scared to go for it, rather pick risk free (that's a laugh) formations that doesn't suit our squad. Let's see if he has the balls to make the changes needed.

I guess you could argue that Spurs have made less changes than we have but even still, you can see such a clear progress compared to what we have.
September 2, 20232 yr Why is every manager that comes to this club playing 343? Thought Poch would be the one to finally turn a new leaf but he isn't. I'm assuming he's only playing this formation because of injuries otherwise it doesn't make sense.

Let's see if he has the balls to make the changes needed. 14 goals in 15 matches in 2023. I'm not sure why now Poch, on top of Tuchel, Potter, and Lampard, feel the best way to solve this goal scoring issue is by fielding more defenders on the pitch? Like you said with more attacking players available after the international break let's see what Poch does. Annoying we have to wait 2 weeks in limbo to see if Poch can turn it around.
September 2, 20232 yr Fans already booing the team 5 games in, Poch needs to turn things around fast. Hopefully he has the International break to take a long hard look at the first 4 games to know what we did and didn't do well.
September 2, 20232 yr Even before we got Pochettino, so many were painting him as something he wasn't. "He's the best around to get the most out of these youngsters" Everybody was calling him a serial bottler not so long ago. This formation he is playing every game doesn't surprise me, he was doing the same at Tottenham, something a lot of fans seem to have forgot. I remember the likes of Walker, Trippier and Rose playing wing back with Dembele and Eriksen in the midfield. I can remember him failing with it before Conte embarrassed him one season in and actually won a title playing that way. I'm sick of coaches being so scared to play attacking football at this club, and as much as I like Tuchel, it annoyed me a lot when he did it too. Pochettino has already set us back massively with his formation. He's already put it into the players head that he doesn't trust them as attackers, but also doesn't trust them to cope without an extra man in defense. We don't see this from Klopp, we don't see this from Guardiola. I know those two are extreme examples because they are the best around, but we need coaches that will put faith in young players. The last thing young players need is for a coach to doubt them, and he's already done it with his tactics and formations.
September 2, 20232 yr Starting to have nightmares about this run. We could seriously be winless in 7, which makes every dropped point now even worse. Hope Poch can sort this out. Edited September 2, 20232 yr by yaz

This squad has already shown its inability to turn around a disadvantageous situation and a manager restricting attacking impetus. Think the best thing Poch can do with these 2 weeks off is to really focus on utilizing his attackers/midfielders strengths. No more complicated/lopsided football.

I’m an old fart but remember reading about the great Liverpool teams of the 70’s and 80’s. When scouting they put emphasis on the character of a player. Alpha males with taches who could play the game but also roll their sleeves up. Formation and Poch aside we’ve got a load of unproven juvenile show ponies.

Yeah, Poch gets credit for overachieving at Spurs but they did have a prime Harry Kane, prime Eriksen, prime Lloris, Kyle Walker, Alderwiereld and Vertonghen. Their squad was very very good at the time, he wasn't tactically amazing. However, Poch does deserve immense credit for developing those players in the first place. Nobody considered Harry Kane a top prospect at youth level, yet Poch turned him into a world class striker.
September 2, 20232 yr I dont fault the board for not spending big on a striker considering our poor record on signing strikers over the past five seasons. And if we are being honest, there really aren't that many strikers out there. Its probably better to hope Jackson and/or Broja come good and Nkunku stays fit. Missing out on Haaland though is probably going to haunt us for the next decade.

The only reason they didn't was because I think they had an injury and Soldaldo was complete trash. It's not like he was kept around because Pochettino demanded it. I don't think he overachieved at Tottenham either. He had some very good players and they won nothing.
