I think it's probable that Pochettino has asked for more premier league experience and experience in general, this doesn't seem like a signing Boehly and the scouting team would go for on paper so I can only assume the manager has pushed for it.

I mean fair enough but this talk that Pochettino wants a small squad doesn't seem feasible now or in the future. I suppose if they are good enough they will find a way in the team.
August 7, 20232 yr "I mean fair enough but this talk that Pochettino wants a small squad doesn't seem feasible now or in the future. (room for one more) 25 sounds about right... we were pushing 35 at points last season.

You don’t pay £23m for a 19yr old midfielder, loan them out for a season, and then block his path into the 1st team with potentially a £25m 24yr old midfielder who is potentially a backup to a £90m 21yr old midfielder. With all 3 potentially on 7yr contracts, it all makes no sense. The smart move will be either to loan Tyler Adams for this season with an option to buy, and monitor the development of Ugochuwku out on loan and have a decision to make in the summer. Another option will be to sign a DM in the 27-28yr range (Marko Grujic, Al Musrati, Mikel Merino) on a 3yr contract for around the same fee.

August 7, 20232 yr Wouldn't we be better off giving Santos some game time and using that 20M towards Kudus since Nkunku might be out for quite a while?
August 8, 20232 yr Don’t see the hype .. seems a decent stop gap solution in my opinion… not physical enough .. not particularly quick .. tackles seen hit and miss.. what am I missing on this one!!

Can't see Gallagher in the pivot alongside Enzo, but with Nkunku out for a few months, I'd keep Conor around as the back up for Chukwuemeka in the CAM role in the 4-2-3-1 ... and then look at it again in January.

August 10, 20232 yr Head is spun. Apparently we have activated his release clause. Caicedo advancing. Lavia rejected, but still in talks. Do we get all 3? Seems a bit ott. Enzo, Caicedo, Lavia, Adams, Santos, Chukwuemeka. Gallagher sold, Uguchukwu loaned to Strasbourg. I would probably loan one of Santos and Carney too, as they point get many minutes.
August 10, 20232 yr Just wake me up September 1st. No idea what we're doing. Edited August 10, 20232 yr by bisright1
August 10, 20232 yr I don't know much about him, but seems like a tackler, so someone who can sit a bit deeper and let Enzo and others push forward a bit more. So I'm all for it. Especially at a reasonable price. Welcome new Captain America!
August 10, 20232 yr 🚨 𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐖𝐄 𝐆𝐎! Chelsea, set to sign Tyler Adams by activating £20m release clause 🔵🇺🇸 Deal in place with Leeds and agreement with the player — medical tests booked in London today for Tyler ✨
August 10, 20232 yr Good. Profile wise he is exactly what we need as neither Caicedo or Lavia are pure sitting DMs.
