I agree. Joe Shields has supposedly been behind some of the more positive decisions that have been made in the last couple of years. So that gives me a bit more confidence.

Poch leaving wasnt baffling.... Although I was in "camp keep", he was on very very thin ice, and had not made any progress in establishing any long term plan or identity to the team. He also didnt seem to like the club or fans - so it was a justified decision, and nowhere near "baffling".

Maresca seems to have the correct system to work with the squad. Just not enjoying the sound of his slow brand of football

No. Not really, he did play a few youngsters at first but as the season progressed he stuck with the same team pretty much.

There's probably 3 big worries. 

- Recycle football

- Reactive. (Late Substitutions)

- Stubborn with his tactics.

The funny thing is, it's only one (admittedly incredible) signing that's the reason Shields isn't grouped with Winstanley and Stewart in the fans eyes.

Pretty sure Shields was also linked to the decision to sign Gusto among others.

At least Casadei  will get a start…need some height in the midfield and a goal scorer .

I'm getting the impression that he knows how to imitate Pep's tactics, but doesn't actually have the managerial ability himself when it comes to substitutions/changing strategy etc.

It was also reported that Luis Enrique had presented a detailed plan for each player in our squad when he was being considered last year. I suppose there must be some standard way managers can get a quick profile on every player a team has.
