Nice confidence boost for the final 9 PL fixtures LOL.

Wasn't Donnell McNeilly the Cobham lad that was playing hard ball on his next contract ?

Sounds like we'd be better off playing the U-21s in those remaining games

Out of current premier league managers there's probably only David Moyes, McKenna, Ruud, Potter and Juric i wouldn't take over him.

I've been saying this since December/January.

He is by far the worse manager in the top 10, possibly even top 15 as you still have the likes of Amorim at United and Frank at Brentford.

Sancho, Tosin, Badiashile, Nkunku, & KDH, getting run around by 15-20 year olds….

NEXT MANAGER

Carlo Ancelotti, (WHY WOULD HE COME BACK?) Gareth Southgate (NO THANKS)

Andoni Iraola (BETTER MOVE QUICK, RUMOURS TOTTENHAM WANT HIM) Mikel Arteta (REALLY?)

Unai Emery (WHY WOULD HE LEAVE VILLA?) Pep Guardiola (DREAMING)

Marco Silva (BEST CHOICE) John Terry (SHOULD BE ASSISTANT)

Xabi Alonso (REAL MADRID) Jose Mourinho (OWNERS WONT GO NEAR HIM)

Thomas Frank (ANOTHER GOOD PICK)

Eddie Howe (WON'T LEAVE NEWCASTLE)

Jackson and Madueke too. Assume Palmer could even have played as he's back in training today.

Is there a confirmed list of who played?

Any link to this? Can't find anyone with any clue who actually played

I suppose it was enough of them to royally piss off Maresca. I’d imagine Nkunku, Lavia, Fofana, & KDH took a lot of part.

The players are an absolute pathetic fragile bunch, but we all know that, they have to take on a lot of responsibility.

But it's clear as day this man is way out of his depth. I don't care about transitioning, buying players for his style, and giving the manager stability. He hasn't earned that, and we would be foolish to give him that type of power and commitment when he has done nothing in his career. It would be more stupid than hiring him in the first place.

We're not finishing in the top 4 with this man, just bin him as soon as possible at this point please.

Well Nkunku does not run so... lol.

Think we may well see a group that has given up on Big Enz, and perhaps the club as well

3rd season in a row we are saying this and wanting a restart.

Can’t wait for more BlueCo gaslighting.

What do you expect when we keep hiring different managers with polar opposite footballing philosophies expecting it just to click over night.

The people upstairs haven't got a clue. And worse yet you take the chance with someone so unbelievably unproven in Maresca who will need a lot of time to implement his strategy considering the players are used to a completely different way of playing.

Only upside of us being knocked out of the FA Cup was I don't have to watch Maresca-ball until Thursday. Nothing is ever going to get better under Maresca, we're just sleepwalking right now hoping everyone around us is somehow worse than we are so we can sh*thouse our way into CL football next season.

Jesus f**king wept!!!!

If we finish top 6 it would be a miracle.

Also the players clearly don’t want to play for him.

Compare him to vibes man Poch even when we were absolutely sh*te the players never gave up on him!!

All those 20 year olds which makes up most of the squad.

I've mentioned it a lot, but I wonder how much damage we are doing to these players by having so little experience in the squad. They are training day in day out with young players in the same age range. It's basically no different than training in a youth team. I look at the likes of Colwill, Gusto, Lavia, Madueke, Jackson, etc and wonder how little progress they are making training together. How much better can a young player get training with young players with the same flaws?

When a youth player is playing for the under 18's and has reached a point in their development where they can no longer grow at that level of the game, they get promoted to the under 21's or senior squad. Our senior players are like those young players that have just been promoted to the senior squad, but because our senior squad isn't what you expect to see from a senior squad, they can't take that next step forward in their development. They have nobody to train with and learn from to help them on that way to reaching that next step. Messi was the most gifted player when he was promoted to the Barcelona first team, but even he would have struggled if he didn't have the likes of Puyol, Xavi, Eto'o, Henry and Ronaldinho to train with every day. We regularly bring up Terry when we talk about his growth from youth player to senior player, he had Desailly, Wise, Hasslebaink Zola and others. Terry had the talent, but would he have ever reached his full potential without training with these players? I don't think he would have.

A coach is important, but the players you have around you to train with every day are just as important. Without both, you're going to hit a wall. This is one reason why I don't see somebody like Palmer sticking around with the project for too long. He will soon see that to improve, he will need to take that next step up, and the only way he will get that is by leaving the club.

It’s a massive 2 months for Maresca. He secure his future or put massive doubts in him. The SD’s will be saying positive things as we’re in 4th but the signs don’t look good. The players don’t look happy or enthused. They look over coached and bored. It all looks very stale.

I’ve said since Christmas, the best that we can hope for a conference league win which gets us into europa. Even then I’m convinced they got what it takes to win a trophy.

Cobham > Clearlake, part 94 of 1000

Also a reminder that McNeilly was a striker option that we chose to totally ignore the last few months for some reason.
