He really does look good. His football is also quite good now.

His hold up play for the team is good and that helps to build attacks. I'd like to see him playing alongside Joao Pedro more often.

I have wanted him to get more minutes as I felt he was starting to show he had something to offer before his injury.

Today I felt he made a big difference without playing particularly well. His movement and physicality gave their back four problems straight away and often created space for others around him. But he also overplayed the physicality sometimes and gave away cheap free-kicks. Their is no doubt he has a better reading of the play and more intelligent striker positioning and anticipation than Jackson. But the run and chance he created for himself was capped with a typical Jacko row Z finish. He needs to be a lot calmer in those circumstances and at least hit the target.

Overall, think there's something there. And I absolutely love how quick he is in for a challenge be it on the ground or in the air. That sort of attitude and commitment could make him a real fan's favourite if he can score a few goals as well.

Definitely rough around the edges but similarly I've wanted him to see more minutes because his off the ball movement is quite good, and he always puts in a shift. Someone like that will always be a handful. Unfortunately for him Delap is a slightly more refined (as of now) version so his pathway is a bit murky but who knows...

His finishing needs to develop of he is to become a top goal scorer but he may well end up a similar type of striker as Giroud, and I would be quite happy for us to have such a forward again.

I'm genuinely interested in what areas that you are drawing comparisons to Giroud.

I agree that he needs to get more minutes but at the moment I struggle to see anything. I like his attitude and effort and the way in which he scampers across the pitch, Johnny Spencer like, will always endear him to fans but atm I just can't see him scoring a PL goal. And if it's about giving youngsters a chance, for me, Shim Mhueka is already showing with his contributions that he probably deserves to be ahead of Guiu.

I wouldn't mind seeing more of him while Delap is injured.

His movement is very good, hopefully with a run of games he'll brush up on his first touch to get away from defenders and his finishing.

Maybe but it's the presence of someone like him (or Delap) in the box that unnerves the opposition at the back and makes it easier for our other players to score...

He'll probably be rested for the Ajax game and brought on 2nd half for Sunderland - if we're in front 😁

I see him, so far, as being a type of striker who makes a team better by giving them a focal point, bringing more space to others, having physicality and a strong work ethic.

I just see him as a scampering young kid doing doggies between opposition players. He needs a run of scoring a few goals on the bounce in order to get some confidence. Currently at no stage does he look like scoring, to me. He needs a few Johnny on the spot goals. The Reece James goal, whilst brilliant for RJ, would have been such a short in the arm for Guiu to have scored it.

I’d like to see him get more minutes. I’ve said this since last season when he was scoring in the Conference League (yes, I know, two tiers below PL), I think that his movement off the ball and how he brings others into play is better than Jackson’s (last season) and he’s better as a 9 than Joao Pedro (who improves when A proper 9 is playing). He’s 19 and he’ll improve if he gets the minutes.

Some goals would certainly be a help to him. He did get one for Sunderland.
