June 3Jun 3 I don’t trust whoever is signing these keepers. To have 8 keepers on the books and not have a no.1 strikes me as that they don’t know what they’re doing.
June 3Jun 3 He is a brilliant goalie, but I'd still have just given Petrovic the season. This goalie fire sale is gonna be legendary; Sanchez, Jorgensen, Kepa, Petrovic all up for sale and I imagine Penders goes on loan

He is France number 1 though so he can't be that bad. Like strikers feels like there is a lack of top quality GKs and I've given up on us ever having a proper good one. Chelsea have spent over £160m on goalkeepers since Courtois’ departure and not one has been consistently good.

Penders to go on loan. That's an improvement at least.
June 3Jun 3 He’s looked good anytime I’ve seen him, albeit that’s not too many. Won leagues in two different countries, seems like a good signing.
June 3Jun 3 He's 100% going to be an upgrade on Sanchez. The problem is how much? If it under £40m Id probably go for it just to never see Sanchez in net again. I do think Petrovic will work at least until we can see how good Penders is, but I don't see Enzo picking him over Sanchez.
June 3Jun 3 He’s a far better keeper than Onana ever was, would be very happy with this one instant upgrade on what we have and in his prime.
June 3Jun 3 Is there any truth in this link? He's 29!!!! We don't sign players that old now. How can we possibly sell him on for a profit?

June 3Jun 3 Would also back Petrovic also. Sanchez finished the season strong as well, although agree we need an upgrade. Stressful position and must be massive pressure to play for Chelsea. Petrovic did well last time, and all stats suggest he has improved.

We're never paying that much for a 29 year old, but it looks like he's got 1 year left on his contract so maybe a cheaper fee this time around makes sense.
June 3Jun 3 Say what you want about the ownership but they're really not afraid to make moves most clubs wouln't make. Sancho not really a success? Out. Jackson isn't developing right (especially mentally lol)? Let''s sign two strikers. Same with Sanchez it seems now. But there are of course serious cons - if they keep experimenting and don't get it right finally we end up with a sh*tload of mediocre players, albeit young and not on crazy contracts. Seems like they're really desperately trying to add players to our 'almost elite' core group - Palmer, James, Caicedo. Colwill and Enzo have potential to get there. CL probably lit a fire under their asses. They don't want to embarass themselves next season 2 minutes ago, DarkMata said:Yeah linked last summer and valued at over £60m. June 3Jun 3 Only worries is his injuries and he had some form fluctuations for Milan the past 2 years, but if he's motivated and fit would be a great signing
June 3Jun 3 Can this be true? Mike will be 30 next month!!! As we all know an experienced goalkeeper is an asset. GK with experience is a good thing.
June 3Jun 3 30yrs in a month’s time, and after his last big contract. Will £150k/w do though? He might be eyeing a move to the Saudi League. His teammate and countryman Theo Hernandez has a £300k/w offer from Al-Hilal; he could easily bank something similar, and as with Kante playing in the Saudi League won’t stop Deschamps from picking him.
