We let him go, as in we did not make it worth his while to stay. If we're lucky he will come back as a coach. If we're lucky.

"Letting somebody go" has been hijacked by HR departments that want people who are being screwed by the corporate combine to feel like it was in fact their own choice to throw their work day and income situation into an uncertain turmoil. "We're letting you go." Like it's something the staff member wanted. It's a term I've diligently avoided using in that context for some decades. In Thiago's case I believe he wanted to leave. I saw the video, I read the club's statements at the time. We let him leave, or as I said, we let him go. My point is we should have made it worth his while to stay, or at least get him in contract to return.
Tuesday at 02:393 days Not a huge fan of the signing, but at least it's a free transfer and if he can add some leadership and experience then it might turn out well.Good luck to him.
Tuesday at 06:572 days Hopefully he's nothing more than a cheerleader this season behind the scenes. Knowing our injury history, he'll probably end up getting a fair few minutes though.
Tuesday at 09:552 days Can Henderson live up to this ? .........Steve Bruce on the The influence JT had at Villa...On TalkSport this morning..He was talking about Henderson going to Chelsea and recalled the immediate effect Terry had on the changing room at Villawith his attitude, preparation, and leadership. He kept talking about JT instead of Henderson ,,!!Bruce’s relaxed, personable manner has had a positive impact. So too the senior players brought in, starting with John Terry. “He sets the tone for the rest of the players where before the players didn’t really have anyone of that ilk,” said Donachie. “They probably had a few people that were more negative and so the standard of the dressing room has completely changed.“He was injured at one point so I spent a few weeks with him,” he added of the 37-year-old. “One day he got me in at six in the morning to start and it was still dark, he's one of the most competitive people I've ever met. They still turned up against Mexico in essentially an away game, and then had to travel and reset themselves against Norway in the heat, a team that had walked all over a "traditional top side" in international football. For all we know Jordan Henderson was one of the reasons England were able to do that.Brazil didn't get to the quarters. Germany didn't get to the quarters. Netherlands didn't get to the quarters. They weren't knocked out by a "traditional top side". Maybe they could have done with a Jordan Henderson.Henderson played about 6 minutes total in the World Cup (against Panama)He didn't play at all in the 4 other games and managed to get injured and booked in the last game that he didn't play Edited Tuesday at 10:392 days by The Rising Sun Info

Tuesday at 16:352 days I'm not a fan of this signing. Henderson was a good player, but that was years ago, and I don't think he's at the level Chelsea should be aiming for anymore. Midfield is one of the most physically demanding positions on the pitch, and once your legs start to go, it's hard to compensate. That said, I'm in the minority who thinks our midfielders play too many minutes and that it catches up with them eventually. If Henderson helps spread the workload even if a bit, there is some value there. Still, both he and Welbeck feel like odd signings to me.

And that is what this is about. It was incredibly widely reported for over a year why he was so important to England. And it wasn't about the minutes on the pitch as a starter. I think Henderson makes us better, marginally. I also think without a signing to start someone alongside Caicedo, we can't win the league. Henderson isn't that signing.
