I think the appointment of Txiki Begiristain, as director of football, a few years ago was part of a plan to lay the groundwork for Pep’s appointment.

Personally I think there’s been a focus on trying to mainly buy players under 25, confident in possession of the ball and generally quite pacey. 

That’s just my view on it, but I think there’s been an overall vision of where they want to be as a club and the type of football they want to be playing.

Whereas with ourselves and United I think we’ve been less coherent with our recruitment strategies.

I think there has been a vision and they were lucky enough to have the coach who best embodies that vision available to them. I think Chelsea have also had a vision that hasn't been executed as well. Probably less so with United. If City planned on Pep and only him, why was Joe Hart still there for example? 

City had an idea but they didn't know how to execute it, I'm not sure United even had one. 

Regardless Jose is up to his old habits again IMO. He's called the players out again today

You're right @yorkleyblue, of course we should let it go.

But every goal Salah scores and every MOTM performance KDB puts in, is just yet another reminder of how badly our club is run. Those two players are the two main contenders for player of the season and we discarded them, which wouldn't be so bad if we had a great squad but we don't and if only we had shown a little more patience they are exactlty the sort of players we could now do with (hell what team couldn't)?

I'd like to let it go but it's so f**king hard!!!

That's sorta true, @Nibs and my argument has been re-hashed so many times I won't go over it again. otherwise my stalker-bitches will crawl out of their holes again, but I don't remember anyone crying over Salah at the time, and very few, if any saw what KdB would actually become.

Sir Frank Lampard is set to become the new manager at Derby County and non other than Jody Morris is set to join him as his assistant. 

If it all goes through, wish them both the best of luck in their first steps into senior management. 

If Morris does move on, don't be surprised if JT returns to Chelsea to take over from him with the youth team. 

Interesting that Jody would leave to be Frank's assistant. You'd think he is quite a way beyond Frank's development as a coach. 

I personally think that Jody should be promoted to work with the first team, in a similar way to Holland. He would assist to smooth the path for the young lads. Would work nicely if we had he and Zola working with Sarri, who seems like he will be appointed.

Gonna be good to see Lamps and Jody managing the local team.
