Random Rumours

Well, considering we were linked with Crouch and Carrol 6 months ago, Hart doesn't look that bad for a rumor. We were after Crouch and Giroud in the end, so I'm certain we will get a better GK than Hart.

Joe Hart being lined up as a replacement for Courtois. Jesus Christ can you imagine

i  think he'll be a back up and helps being homegrown

this does sound like a second season(of a manager) signing though

He's not going to want to be a backup.

His form has dropped over the past couple of years, couldn’t even win the West Ham job.  His play has dictated that he is not a bang on starter week in and week out.  What he wants is, frankly, irrelevant.

That would be awesome, although that would value Willian at £85m considering Barca paid £135m for dembele.

I think we would have to offer at £80m.

I read that barca want to offer dembele and cash for hazard, so I guess they could be willing to let him go.

Valverde and the Barca board seem to be having buyers' regret over him for whatever reason. Not sure why they don't rate the lad. I absolutely love him. Top talent.

Max Meyer is a free agent, sign him up Roman.

Strange that he hasn’t signed anywhere yet

Edit: A quick google search brought up this article https://www.google.com/amp/www.skysports.com/amp/football/news/11095/11443137/max-meyer-former-schalke-wonderkid-without-a-club

Sounds like they have some slightly far-fetched wage demands and burned some bridges with Schalke

Was watching a bit of the France vs England U19 game in which England got trounced 5-1. There is a young player by the name of Moussa Diaby, he's only 19 but I reckon he'll become the next French star. He looks the business. Set up two of the goals, but was a nuisance down that right wing. I think he is left footed too. Worth watching out for, maybe he'll make the move to a big club sooner or later.

Edit: Apparently he's in the PSG youth ranks or in their B team I think it is.

Chelsea are in serious discussions with PSG for goalkeeper Alphonso Areola. The fee being discussed is €45m plus performance-related bonuses. Negotiations well underway, but no agreement reached yet. #CFC #PSG

Bloody PSG. If they hadn't signed Neymar and Mbappe for such ridiculous fees, every other club in the world wouldn't be demanding insane money for average players yet.

Dont forget Man sh*tty.. They pretty much started the trend of massively overpaying for players

I know he was in the WC squad for France, but curious about how good he actually is?  Also, wouldn’t it make more sense for PSG to sell Trapp and keep Areola, since he is French?  Don’t they have some sort of homegrown quota like the PL?

That's a big fee for a sub goalkeeper now.

Pepe f**king Reina? please tell me this is a joke?

If it comes down to Reina as a stop gap vs a big financial commitment for an unsuitable keeper like Butland or Donnaruma then i personally would side with the former. What we must factor is Ederson and Allison have emerged respectively the last 2 season's, there's every chance a keeper of similar ilk (ala suited to this style) will again.

Instead of looking for a stop gap, we should just stick with Courtois for another year. Even if we do lose him for free, i would rather risk that then have us wasting money on Reina.

Milan doing what I always do on Football Manager, sign up any half decent player who is out of contract and then sell them for a profit.

Can't agree. If we're going to buy Reina as a stop-gap for £10m, we might as well keep Courtois for the season. We barely lose any money at all, in fact, we're likely to make money given how much better we'll do with Courtois between the sticks. Let's get this right, Pepe Reina was signed by Milan on a free to be their number 2. That's the best offer he got, because he's old and he's sh*t. He's just not cut out to keep goal in the Prem. If he were, he'd have had loads of Premiership suitors, particularly given he was available for nothing. If this one is true, Sarri has seriously misjudged the situation in my eyes. Reina will struggle to be accepted by match-going fans, because of his history with us and the fact he's such a massive downgrade. It's just not funny. I know Sarri wants to bring a few of his ex-players along with him but this is taking things a bit too far. Goalkeeper is a vital position. He's making a very costly error very early in his tenure. Hopefully it all turns out to be bullsh*t.
