July 3, 20224 yr Barcas president Joan Laporte coming coming out with some exclusives: https://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/chelsea-fc-transfer-rumours-news/2022/7/3/23192920/laporta-barcelona-will-announce-christensen-sign-raphinha-dembele-keep-de-jong Basically official announcement of the signing of Kesse on Wednesday and Christensen on Thursday. Dembele expected to re sign for them on reduced terms compared to his last deal, Raphinha also going to sign, De Jong to sign reduced salary and stay and Lewa is still likely. And they are broke lmao. Pays to be one of the favored clubs lol.

That would save us dozens of pounds off the fee. Dozens. Juventus aren't going to take a player that isn't good enough for them on 150K a week. I know the dream is to swap our deadwood for some top players but these swaps rarely come off. It will be a cash deal and if we're giving them 70m for De Ligt it's a certainty they're going to use it to sign better players than Pulisic or whatever other deadwood we think we can include to lower the fee of their best player. At some point in time, Barca will accrue enough debt that will destroy the club overnight.

Well, we have lost Big Rom and we are also losing Ziyech on loan to Milan. Italian clubs love a loan. Tuchel will want to keep some players. For the squad. We have yet to sign anybody.
July 3, 20224 yr I thought for a moment Serge Gnabry (RW/LW) would be a nice option for Chelsea? But he Seems to fail to settle at any club and is not open to signing a new contract without a significant increase in salary, and it is his very significant financial demands that are proving to be a problem over a new contract. The wages are less of a problem for Juventus where tax laws are beneficial but they have preferred options. Real Madrid consider him an option to Mbappe as they look to shake up their wingers, but there are others ahead of him on their list, but the player wants to move to Madrid. Is he worth the trouble? Should Chelsea chae another player who would rather be in Spain?

Offering 60 million pounds to Leeds for Raphina shows we're willing to spend big. I don't think he's even worth that at all. The player's preference is elsewhere and that's probably why it hasn't been completed. Not exactly a plethora of great players looking for new clubs at the moment.

Hopefully our approach will now be "give Vale and Anjorin a chance" instead of "ah let's sign Bakayoko and Zappacosta"...
July 3, 20224 yr Much like a baby birth pool, we should have one for our first f**king transfer if it’ll ever happen July 26th.

Zappacosta was truly a horrible signing but Bakayoko made sense. The plan was to have 2 mobile destroyer and to have him learn for one season behind Matic like what pool did with konate.

July 4, 20224 yr Seems that Sari wants RLC and Emerson in exchange we are being offered Sergej Milinkovic-Savic Now that one attracts me I have to say.

July 4, 20224 yr Sounds like we've been offered the chance to sign both Neymar & Ronaldo. We won't sign boh but got a feeling we'll end up signing one of them tbh.

Names dont get much bigger in footie and would grant the club a lot of commercial revenue, neymar, havertz and ronnie front 3? If they don't score no one ever will and we should play 6 mids until a meteorite hits earth again and vaporises everything! Edited July 4, 20224 yr by Kantesmini

I'm generally torn mate my preference for transfers currently are MDL, Sterling, a quality DM and another quality left sided CB. Apparently we'll get 6 new signings and if we're moving Ziyech to Milan and one of Pulisic or Werner are moved we'll definitely need at least one more attacker. I posted an evening standard link below which details how TT isn't too keen on signing another superstar after the Lukaku situation (can anyone blame him). Yet Lukaku wasn't a superstar just a good player with a big ego he doesn't belong in a conversation alongside Ronaldo or Neymar. Things could be different if we sign one of them. Neymar since he's younger would perhaps be the better option long term, I also think a loan could work and wouldn't require too much commitment from the club if he doesn't work out. Ronaldo is 37, but knows the league, would make us a title and ucl contender just because of his billing. We would only get 2 seasons out of him but can you imagine what the squad could learn from him, sporting, professionally and lifestyle wise. Can't believe I'm actually saying this but I'm easy either way. They're nice names to dream about, but I only want players TT wants and players that will mesh well with what we have. So I'm not fussed of they don't come and I wouldn't be championing them coming here, that said I certainly won't be a boo boy and say I definitively don't want then here. In the meantime I just want Sterling and De Ligt announced at a tidy combined £125m maximum. Edit: Most important aspect of this window to remember is if TTs doesn't want someone they won't be signed. Boehly will speak with loads of agents and players but unless Tuchel gives the approval they won't be brought in. Todd wants to help build Tuchel's team not the other way around! Great news for us fans, we've seen what TT can do with other coaches teams what about his own?! Edited July 4, 20224 yr by LongtimerLurker
July 4, 20224 yr Ronaldo and/or Neymar could be the ingredient needed to make the jump from CL place contenders to league contenders, it could also be a massive disaster. I don't know what to think here glad it's Tuchel making the decisions. He is the best person to ask when it comes to Neymar at least.

I remember their fans saying similar last year.
