Seems that Sari wants RLC and Emerson in exchange we are being offered Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

Now that one attracts me I have to say.

Would make sense if Lazio are looking to get money in as well as players as I am sure they would be looking for 50mill plus those 2.

Ronaldo and/or Neymar could be the ingredient needed to make the jump from CL place contenders to league contenders, it could also be a massive disaster.  I don't know what to think here glad it's Tuchel making the decisions.   He is the best person to ask when it comes to Neymar at least.

No risk no reward

Liverpool showed that, Liverpool!

We are rebuilding, as TT said. Signing prime Messi would not help us overhaul both pool and City in the league in my opinion, nevermind a past it Ronaldo and a Neymar who has long since given up his desire to be a top footballer.

If Ronaldo is going to be on the same wages as Thiago Silva, then *maybe* consider it ... Neymar the better option on loan I guess, but to be honest it's akin to asking a man on death row whether he'd prefer a lethal injection or the electric chair !

Lol we know Ronnie would be on 500k a week.

Latest rumour is that Todd is waiting for the world cup and run data on every player..

January window then ?

Obviously false, but if not, it tells us all we need to know really.

I said this is going to be a boring window and we probably will sign 1 or maybe 2 cb. Turn out I am completely wrong, it is more like no window.

I honestly don't care about rapinha or sterling. If we get them good, if we don't, It doesn't matter. Just, no Ronaldo nonsense please.

But we definitely need cb. If we can't get anyone then Azpi need to stay to play that lcb position. Otherwise imagine having Colwill n sarr as a our lcb combination. Colwill is maybe our future but every young player goes through bad patches. it happened to Reece, it happened to Tammy, it happened to mase, it happened to chalo. It was easy when you have Azpi, Giroud or kova but when it is sarr 😱😱😱

not particularly keen on ronaldo, feel like we would have to adapt too much to him

i would rather see a false 9 dynamic fast front 3. I'm happy with Sterling. Neymar i would take on a loan with option to buy, just because it would be exciting to see how he would do

No way are we getting Ronaldo or Neymar,in fact they way things seem to be going we will have to keep the dross players and challenge for top 8 this season,in which case give Thomas a bye and play the kids.

Spurs reportedly contacting Barca about Memphis Depay who they value at £17m since he only has a year left on his contract. Worth a punt imo seems like if we convinced him of the project he would choose us instead of them. Of course depends on if TT sees him working in the system, but to me I've wondered why we weren't interested when reportedly Barca put him on the market for ~€20m.

If we dont bring in a group of players, I think we can kiss goodbye to 4th. spurs, le arse man city and liverpool have all already brought in some key signings, We really need to start up the zonda here because as each day goes past its looking more and more grim

I think it's important to get signings in before the pre-season abroad starts. If not, i'm not gonna stress too much. Tuchel managed to win the CL after jumping straight in with new players too him, i trust him to make anything work.

I think way too much gets made of this. Some of our best-ever signings - Arjen Robben, Juan Mata, Michael Essien, Willian, even Drogba was at the end of July - have all come late in the window, after protacted negotiations.

Modern pre-season campaigns are all about fitness, conditioning and injury prehab. Programs are individualised and that means that, depending on post-season commitments, players are at different stages of their pre-season plan at different times. There just isn't a lot of time to do specific tactical preparations other than trying out different formations etc and it's one of the only times you can spend good time doing actual technical work, such as working on players' touch and passing etc. Pre-seasons tend be to quite generic at the top level so as long as a player as a pre-season somewhere they'll be in reasonably good nick.

I could be wrong, but aren't most players from the recent Internationals e.g. Nations league still on holiday? Ideally, get the new signings involved in the pre-season tour. However, not bet too much money on that. This season is basically two seasons in one because of the world cup, which could be good for us as we usually f* up around November

Robben was signed in March and was playing in pre-season games before getting injured.

I don't think it's too much of a big deal when it's a single signing, but if all of our signings are going to end up being signed towards the end of pre-season or worse, after the season starts, then it's an issue. You would think that all of the signings we are going to make are going straight into the first team, so it won't be ideal going up against Everton and Tottenham without them or with them only having a few days working with the team.

Good point about Robben, but that was actually what I was referring to. He played 2? friendlies then got injured and didn't play again until Everton in November, missing the majority of pre-season and early season too.

I agree with what you're saying though, when it is all your signings and they're all intended to be core players who are filling gaps, it's a trickier proposition. Nevertheless i'd be more worried if it was a Euro/WC summer.

This season above all others it will be about injury prevention and fitness, due to the World Cup. Liverpool and City will be scarcely affected by the WC with the majority of their squads basically getting a mid-season rest.
