May 19, 201412 yr Just seen this quality video from Twitter. Had me in tears all over again. Can't believe it, best day of my entire love. I have so much respect and admiration for the all players. Some proper hero's in their. Alot of players that night who wont get the credit they deserve sadly imho. Absolute heroes and enjoy this gem. KTBFFH Edited May 19, 201412 yr by Mike 93
May 19, 201412 yr Two years to the day, a giant of an Ivorian had the weight of Roman Abramovich, Roberto Di Matteo and over 20 Chelsea players on his shoulders. The crowd of red shirts sitting behind the goal of the penalty-scoring goalkeeper, Neuer, waited with bated breath. Bratwurst bubbled uncomfortably in their stomachs. Spectacular f**k-ups from two of their own players had led to this moment. Even more spectacular, was the performance from Chelsea's Czech behemouth, Petr Cech. Schweinsteiger has his tipped on to the post by Cech's outstretched finger, which probably has more strength in it than my entire bicep. Olic's penalty was poor and Cech was able to save it. The look of fierce concentration and resolve in his eyes as he walked away from saving those penalties was scary to watch. "You're standing too close Drogba, where's your run-up?!" I screamed in alarm; Didier was only standing 1 step away from the ball. I feared the worst. I needn't have worried. A neat strike into the corner of the goal sealed it. We were Champions, having beaten the Germans in their own back yard. The Ivorian ran to his goalkeeper, tears streaming from his eyes as they embraced. He was soon buried under the Chelsea squad. The only London team to win the Champions League trophy. And it's going to stay that way, with many more to come! 1905 19/05 It was written in the stars.
May 19, 201412 yr Time was ticking by...But I felt strangely calm, I just knew somehow that our name was on that cup... I loved Martin Tyler (I think) screaming DROGGGGBAAAAA as the Drog equalised...Lovely stuff Edited May 19, 201412 yr by SHELLY
May 19, 201412 yr Far as the final goes, read on Sky Lahm was very confident the home field advantage has already proven to be the deciding factor and has a (rightful) pop at JT for how he got sent off in Barca. Plenty more comments like this please, a captain that boasts he has won before a ball is kicked is a fool asking for a sucker punch. Edited May 19, 201412 yr by coco
May 19, 201412 yr Here's a Heads up - sky are showing the game again on Thursday...it's on at least twice during the day...ss1 I think
May 19, 201412 yr 19th May................i knew there was something special about this date when i looked at the date on my laptop. I don't think this night could have been any better 2 years ago.
May 19, 201412 yr The greatest sporting moment of my life Its funny I still feel nervous watching the penalties Townsend was beauty on that vid haha, I actually watched it on ITV on the night because I had watched the Moscow final on Sky and felt superstitious. Since then my recorded highlights were from Sky as I preferred that commentary but it was good to hear it again.
May 21, 201412 yr I still get nervous watching the penalties. That's right David, blast the ball into orbit. And Didier, you know a two step run-up is not going to end well...
May 22, 201412 yr Just saw it back on sky...some of the tension returned even though I knew the result...have to say, despite some bias stuff this season, Tyler's commentary was brilliant that night...captured all our feelings, the hurt of coming so close, and the drama of finally seeing the dream come true
May 22, 201412 yr Just saw it back on sky...some of the tension returned even though I knew the result...have to say, despite some bias stuff this season, Tyler's commentary was brilliant that night...captured all our feelings, the hurt of coming so close, and the drama of finally seeing the dream come true We all complain about biased commentators, some of it justified, but it has to be said that Sky were pro-Chelsea that night. Neville was overtly rooting for us, to the point where he was orgasming on live TV, and Tyler's commentary was terrific. Goodness me, what goes around comes around. Well, he scored a magnificent header to equalise and take it to extra time. He gave away a penalty which should have been advantage Bayern, but wasn't. And it's come down to Drogba, who this time is the fifth penalty taker for Chelsea in the final shoot-out... He's done it! The greatest night in the history of Chelsea Football Club. European champions. They've beaten Bayern in their own backyard. They've found the Holy Grail after an adventure fraught with danger. And Drogba may never play for Chelsea again. He will never be forgotten. He's immortal at this football club. Still spine-tingling. Edited May 22, 201412 yr by Englishman
May 22, 201412 yr it was more tyler's obvious will for liverpool to win the title this season that really got me...but he's forgiven for that one night's work alone
May 23, 201412 yr The best day of my life hands down probably the best weekend of my life too. I had been to Berlin before and it was a very grey and depressing area but i thought Bavaria was brilliant
May 23, 201412 yr Realised when the team lifted the trophy when watching it back on sky how many players have since moved on...with Luiz, Mikel and Torres all possibly off this summer, it doesn't leave many survivors from that night...still that triumph was achieved with a team that needed working on
May 23, 201412 yr Saw thread title, remembered Mata missed the first kick, almost shat myself again. Good times.
May 23, 201412 yr Still can't believe Drogba's pen though. The run up was so short. Given how good Neur had been in the shoot-out,I fully expected him to miss it. Luiz's pen was incredible though - what a pen!
May 23, 201412 yr Not only did we knock out the best teams in Barca and Bayern, and win the final in Bayerns own stadium, and have a Drogba goal in the final minutes, and his final penalty kick to complete the dream. We actually had an ex-player and club legend in charge, PERFECT !

Mata Lamps Luiz Cole Drogs Sad to think they've all come to the end, but Lamps might yet re-sign.
