After a few underwhelming performances, he's definitely back to his best. I guess he was due a bad patch of form after being so consistently good for so long. Absolute rock at the back today. Imo, our best back 3 is Azpi-Christensen-Rudiger.

What about yesterday's performance? He alternates good with terrible performance since he got the vice captain privilege. But forget about this - I just can't stand his arrogance and trully assessment of his superiority over the team mates. Being on the bench vs United is something that will definitely put a smile on my face. 

Conte has made only one mistake this season - he gave the bloody badge to Dave and alienated Luiz - our real captain.

are you insinuating that Dave is arrogant? What a truly bizarre assessment. Seems the complete opposite.

He isn't a bloody wingback, whats the point in buying Zappacosta? 

Been below his usual high standards overall, but shunting him to wing-back doesn't help.

His arrogance? He's probably the most humble, level and professional player we have in our team. You're talking out of your hole.

I don't buy into this "players are a particular type of player and that's it".   You're a footballer and your attributes lend themselves to certain areas of the park but they certainly don't neglect other areas.

He could play many positions and has done so all the way through his career.

He isn't suited for wingback though is he really?

Much prefer him at CB and Zappa at WB.

I agree with you largely, but I prefer him at centre back due to how good he is in 1v1 situations, which is where a few of our other CBs fall down. I'd honestly have looked at playing him as a defensive mid as well given our injury problems, he has the ball skill for it

Hes an ex winger who moved to full back, he`s absolutely suited to being a wing back.

Not apologizing for his mistakes, yelling at the team mates, pretending for every free throw, no matter how obvious it is that he's wrong - all of this appeared in his game since the moment he led the team as captain. If you don't call that arrogance, then there is something wrong with you.

I don't like him at wing back tbh. He has a decent delivery, but when he finds himself 1 on 1 with the opposing full back, he doesn't have the ability to beat his man and get a cross in, so it usually means the ball gets fed back across midfield, giving the defence more time to get there shape back. 

When alonso is doing the same in the other side, we are very easy to defend against. 

I think our best options are moses on the left and zappacosta on the right. We really should've got a left wing back in the summer. Even a cheap option like kolarov dare I say it, would've given alonso a kick up the arse!

like i said on another discussion, i think he would be an upgrade on alonso at lwb for the time being to give us some defensive solidity and pace. at the moment alonso is really sub-par. it then opens up a position in our defence for christensen to come in at cb.

I never thought I would see the day someone hates Azpilicueta and sees him as arrogant, especially not one of our own fans. 

Azpi performs for every single manager and he's been a favourite for every single one of them who have come through, he's been played as a RB, LB and now he's been developed into a CB, never complained always performed. You're entitled to your opinion but f**king hell, are you trolling? 

With Moses out, we are down to just 2 WBs. So can understand why Conte would want to alternate a bit between them. Hopefully with the break coming up, we see Azpi played as a RCB and Zappa as RWB as that might be their most natural positions.

He started 74 league games straight before last nights game. What a run in the team he had, and never once looked tired either.
