If any of our attacking players (including hazard) did there job as consistently and as well as Azpi does his we would have won this league by now and they would be looking at every personal award going... that's how good he is

We've really uncovered a gem here.  I'd never heard of him when we signed him and now he's one of the best fullbacks around.  I'd prefer him on his natural flank though so he can get forward as much as possible.

I agree that he's been so very consistent this season. I don't understand why our other players can't be the same. I'd go as far to say that he is the hardest & most consistent worker in this team. All the others seem knackered, whereas azpi just keeps up the same pace every game.

He's been playing at the same level since he joined, crazy consistent. 

 

Been called up to the national team too, should nail down the RB spot no problem.

Azpi is playing better than him, not sure if Cole will get a new contract and if he did I'm not so sure he will sign it. I think Cole should be given some more games though and switch Azpi to right back just to rotate and give some players a rest.

One on one defensively Azpi might be the best player in the league. It's almost a shame that after so many years of having huge RB problems we've now got two very decent options, and one has to lose out.

Probably off in the summer - along with Lamps - to Beckham's new club in Miami.

I hope so.

I'll be surprised if Arbeloa even plays and he's better than Carvajal. Carvajal may play against teams they are expected to beat but I expect Dave to be first choice for most games.

I think he'll be a very loyal player for us as well.

I'm not sure how vocal he is but when JT retires/leaves and we don't get an obvious captain replacement - Azpi's name could well be in the frame. Not saying he'd get it but his work rate and commitment on the pitch sets a good example to all.

I pretty much agree with this post. He has quietly gone about his job whilst being played out of his natural position. A consumate professional.

Azpilicueta is a model professional and an excellent defender - I am delighted to have him at the club. He is humble, hard-working and conservative enough to fill Ferreira's role within the club (and that is a huge compliment), although sadly he can't hit a cross quite as sweetly as Paulo.

Top quality, could well be our main left back for years. Will see if Jose signs a right back or left back in the summer.

He is the second best signing we've made in recent years no doubts about it.

Dave is the best full back in the world in my opinion. I am hoping we play Real Madrid at some stage this season and he will be tested to the max by Bale and Ronaldo. I see him as our long term right back and Shaw as our left back. One thing for sure he was a snip at 7 million and one of our best buys of the Roman era.

I was worried when we played him at LB to start with but he's proven to be a great defensive full back in that position.

The lads done us proud and jose looks to have gotten the best out of him.

To push the best left back in English football to the bench most of the season says it all, Dave has made that position his own.

I still want Shaw though, and move dave to RB.

Second best after Lahm but there's no reason he can't be as good or better in the future.
