December 16, 201510 yr Well he's right regardless. Guys like him, Costa and Hazard have been an insult to our club.
December 16, 201510 yr Just a big thumbs up to Cesc! Finally someone taking responsibility and actually saying it out loud. I always thought he is captain material. And I'm not saying the words from JT or Courtois or Gary are less meaningful but they have mostly been basic football player jargon. I know he has not been any better on the pitch this season but it is a team game and team effort. This is also a huge word of confidence towards Jose.
December 16, 201510 yr Its like the 3rd time hes come out and said something, nothing has changed so far, not holding out any hope anything will this time either
December 17, 201510 yr I must admit I think he gets a hard time on here, it's almost as if people were unaware of his defensive frailties prior to this season. In the same way people say hazard shouldn't be restricted by defensive duties, I think Cesc is the same, if you want the best out of him let him play his game which is why I'd like to see him in the no 10. He plays low percentage stuff so his passes will occasionally go out the park but when they come off ala Leicester, he needs the player on the end of it (Costa) to finish it on everyone forgets it. He has created chances in the last calendar year, the problem is that our players aren't scoring. He's about the only one I've noticed shoot from outside the box. Yes he needs to improve as does the whole team but I think he's being made somewhat of a scapegoat of late. I liked reading what he said, it may just be words but he's taking responsibility & publicly backng the manager, which is something we need at this point in time.

Matic has been just as poor as Cesc this year but hardly ever get's mentioned on here. The fact Cesc played for Arsenal means every poor pass, run etc is amplified 10* what it is for others.
December 17, 201510 yr So Fabregas has come out and said "players on big salaries need to behave like big players". Basically, start performing. Ironic coming from him who has contributed nothing for the last calendar year. The thing is though, if you ignore media bullsh*t and peoples uninformed opinions on here the most likely reason he and the other main culprits who are not doing what they did last season are not doing it is poor form, he's trying to kick them and himself up the arse to help rekindle some form and show people that it has nothing to do with tactics or player discontent. Yes there's an argument for Jose picking different players if these are out of form but Jose is a better judge of the options form than us or the journo's. Edited December 17, 201510 yr by Chippy
December 17, 201510 yr And he's better judgment has us lingering a point above relegation places. No excuses, give others and youth a chance.
December 17, 201510 yr And he's better judgment has us lingering a point above relegation places. No excuses, give others and youth a chance. alternatively you judge without seeing the players...great manager you'd make. Mourinho's job and reputation are on the line here, if he doesn't think the alternatives will do any better, I'm sure he has valid reasons. what happened last time you watched some of the youngsters train with the first team boys? did they look good enough to you?
December 17, 201510 yr alternatively you judge without seeing the players...great manager you'd make. Its not rocket science to know that benching a starter when he's off form makes him work harder to get his place back. Increases competitiveness within the squad. We've seen Fergie do this times without number. Its part of management 101 Mourinho's job and reputation are on the line here, if he doesn't think the alternatives will do any better, I'm sure he has valid reasons. If he doesn't think?. Why not try it first? Its not that difficult, is it? what happened last time you watched some of the youngsters train with the first team boys? did they look good enough to you? Watched the youngsters train?. Sorry I haven't been privilege to watch them train at Cohbams (maybe you have), I only seen the few mins given to them on TV and they've haven't been woeful. Sorry I haven't been privilege to watch them train at Cohbams (maybe you have), I only seen the few mins given to them on TV and they've haven't been woeful. Exactly...you have only seen a few minutes of them on TV...qualified to judge better than a man paid millions to do so and that sees them every day, tries things in training with them and gives them those few minutes you see on TV? I do't think so. RLC hasn't been woeful, Kenedy hasn't been woeful but RLC has to do enough to displace the options of Fabregas, Mikel, Matic and Ramires...Kenedy has the small obstacle of Hazard, Pedro Oscar ahead of him, none of which are lighting the world up but I am sure if the youngsters applied themselves better on the training pitch the manager would have stopped reading his paper long enough to look up and see it. You people who believe Jose is too stuborn to pick youngsters and in the next breath are saying the players have fallen out with him are just looking for anything to complain about, if he fell out with the players he'd play anyone in front of them, if the youngsters were better than the establihed players he'd play them, do you think he wants to lose games? Top manager, a few out of form players and not strong enough options to replace them, he's the one who must decide when to give up trying to play them into form and try other options and he will when those options show him something that says they're ready. You carry on complaining while he tries his nuts off to sort it out.

Funny Jose is complaining about players performing in training and not in matches. If so, why not play those you know would perform in real matches?.PS: I would carry on complaining because I care and I'm worried, I want to see the club I support progress. I don't follow the manager. Edited December 17, 201510 yr by lesblues

You carry on complaining while he tries his nuts off to sort it out. Chippy, you always make valid points and I always take them on board. But your main argument always goes back to Jose sees the players in training............ You're right he does. Then he selects the side on the Saturday / Sunday and from the results, he is clearly getting it wrong. 9 defeats in 15 games. So I would argue that his assessment or conclusion he is coming to from watching players in training needs reviewing. He has let players go based on what he saw of them in training (KDB / Lukaku) and has sent players out on loan who are doing well (Ake - starting every game at Watford who are currently 7th in the table). Right now Jose looks like a man sinking in a boat and he has one plan how to keep that boat afloat but it is still sinking. He NEEDS A PLAN B. I still want him to stay. I want him to turn it around so at some point in the future we can look back on this chapter and laugh. But if he does go down and hasn't at least tried a few options, I will have no sympathy for him.
December 17, 201510 yr Agree, though the last line is a bit harsh. Why harsh? Don't get me wrong, it's sad when anyone gets sacked, especially a coach as good as Mourinho. But it will be hard to symapthise and even less so if he gets a few million quid to boot!
December 17, 201510 yr Cesc the first player to stick his head above the trenches and thank Jose and say he's sad to see him go. He's not all bad... ...for a gooner.
December 18, 201510 yr Well it's a day of surprises. Reports emerging that Fabregas actually made a tackle in training http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/sport/football/article4644190.eceMust have been something new that Jose was trying!
December 18, 201510 yr he is a hypocrite and a rat! Cesc the first player to stick his head above the trenches and thank Jose and say he's sad to see him go.He's not all bad......for a gooner.
December 18, 201510 yr A source who has inside knowledge of the situation has confirmed Fabregas and Hazard were leading the charge for Mourinho to be fired. [NBC] Fabregas was the main opponent to Mourinho as the midfielder had complained to #Chelsea’s hierarchy about Mourinho and his antics. [NBC] The fact that two of the highest earners were leading calls for Mourinho to be fired would have hit home to the owner and directors. [NBC] On Mourinho’s final day at #Chelsea, Cesc Fabregas launched into a late tackle on the training ground which caused an all-out brawl. [NBC]

December 18, 201510 yr Thank heavens only 2 players were mentioned, or else you'd be posting this even more than twice. Edit: correction, 3 times Well it does involve Jose, Cesc and Hazard.
December 18, 201510 yr Fabre was causing a lot of trouble at Barcelona. there were people who were holding him on a very short leash there but he was able to leak team sheets and even tata wanted him gone in his first season.
December 18, 201510 yr Nevin is speculating folks read what he actually said, he even asked the question wasn't it? Says it all
