Looking the depth of attacking midfield options has started to pay off a bit.

Schurrle was MOTM filling in for Hazard against S. Bucharest and then the two attacking midfield subs won us the game at the weekend.

I hope he stays wider than the others. All our creative players are very similar and all cut inside, we need an outlet on the wing.

All of these players are wonderful but the problem is we can't possibly accommodate them all.  Lets not forget about De Bruyne who was our standout player in preseason and fantastic in our opening league games.  I think we're going to have to lose at least one of them, unless someone converts to central midfield.  I like them all, I also like Moses; but I just don't see where we're going with this in the long term.  Hopefully it'll become clear as the season develops.

Or play with a false nine (God I hate football terminology), not like our strikers are scoring anyway.

Could not agree more. Funny thing is this 'false nine' was invented before 1956 never mind 2006...it's just the new buzzword for the Guardian style pseudo-intellectualism that is developing around football now. If you're going to use fancy terminology at least give it an exotic twist - trequartista at least has a purpose, likewise for libero...they roll off the tongue much better.

It's become rife now and I guess the reason a lot of people continuously use it is to make them feel more clued-up than they really are.

I think it's a much that certain in fashion phrases get thrown around so much that you assume that's all there is to call it.

I heard the term "pivot" personally, it seems a new buzz word in English football. Fairly sure that a few years ago we would have just called them defensive midfielders.

I have decided in my 5-a-side team I now play the false number 3 position. Its false because its where I`m supposed to play but its where I rarely actually find myself.

5 a side is the best, I love it. Most days you can be a goal scoring machine, scoring bucket loads. Then you are the Xavi, the creative / through ball master. Then you are the John Terry, the last ditch tackling hero.

5 a side is a game for heroes.

I'm mostly left back.... Left back in the changing room.

I played last night and shot my achilles out, agony this morning trying to push the clutch on my drive to work. This was minutes after I scored one of the best goals Ive ever scored, a volley from an angle. I think it was the shock that blew my achilles out, I rarely score.

Nightmare! Need to rest that one! Not good. My dad popped his and it ended his footy days after 30 years of 5 a side twice a week!

Theres a decent chance it might have ended mine. I`m 40 now and getting more aches and pains, I was supposed to show a company around some works today but couldnt, my boss wasnt overly happy.

Sod him.

At least yours hasnt snapped! When the old boys went he said it sounded a plank of wood breaking in two. He had to wear a protective boot for a few months.

Once its rested you'll be fine. You may need to build up strength in it to help keep you injury free

Chelsea 5 a side team:

-----------------Cech-----------------
------Luiz----------------Ramires-
------Willian------------Hazard---

We'd be the best 5 a side team in the league.

Ouch! Have you seen a doctor for that injury? Better get some medical advice on this!

Nah, i manned and just strapped it up and took pain killers. Then complained I was in agony all the time.

Sorry but spending £30M on the guy was basically just burning money.

He won't ever be a Hazard, a Mata, or an Oscar. He's a £30M benchwarmer and in yesterday's case not even in the 18 man squad.

That money could have gone to buying a holding midfielder. Then we would be a better balanced squad.

Can I borrow that crystal ball of yours mate?

Although it might be broken because i'm guessing you didn't predict that goal against Norwich.

I think he plays at a higher tempo than any of those 3 and gives defenders something different to worry about, we may not have needed him but i'm glad he's here.

Well done!

I think this is a bit unfair. He has scored one very very good goal but lets not get carried away just yet. Sheva scored some very nice goals but is still though of as a flop by many fans. Im not saying what Joey said is right and Willian is a waste of money just yet but im not getting carried away because he scored one goal against a team we should be thrashing anyway.

Flop or not, we will most likely loose one attacking midfielder. I don't see us beeing able to keep six quality attacking midfielders happy. competing for just three positions. Those £30mil would have been better spent on our central midfield as JoeyN said, wich is only an injury to Ramires away from having major problems.

We already have problems there even with Ramires. But we'd be in quite a lot of trouble if he did get injured.

Since when did one goal equal 30M?

Willian has improved us no doubt, but imagine how much more we could have improved with a £30M Center Midfielder. Look what Youre does for City. Carrick for United. We don't have that Midfield enforcer. It's probably why we lose the midfield battle in a lot of the bigger games.

I don't have a UEFA Pro licence or anything but if I did, I would have kept Moses here and bought a CDM.

Moses has been excellent for Liverpool this season. He's massively underrated here. I think he'll be a very good player in the next few years and he's more suited for the prem imo.
