March 5, 201511 yr Calm down guys, all we do is slate our player we are 5pts clear ffs with a game in hand! Not the worst miss ever, he has to strike it first time and he has to get it on target both which he done. Every now and again it will just hit the defender or the defender will make a great block. That's what happened on this occasion no big deal. Eden probably should have slotted it home himself anyway. After 3 seasons of Torres specials you would think people would see that as a decent effort... i mean it was on target
March 5, 201511 yr I was actually happy with what Hazard did when he passed it to Willian, i like that he is a team player. Hazard had 3 or 4 shots on goal so this time he passed it to Willian who should have scored. Willian has been in this position many times this season and he never finishes it. It's frustrating because against Liverpool, Everton and Villa he got himself a goal and 2 assists, i thought things were changing for him, but tonight it was back to the Willian who can't create and can't shoot. Another thing that really annoyed me was his pass to Fabregas in the second half, it really was so poor. All he had to do was pass it straight to Fabregas and he would have been in the area and we would have had another chance to score, but he completely messed it up. For some strange reason he looped the ball into the area and gave Fabregas no chance of getting on the end of it and it went straight out of play. If it was a one off then i wouldn't complain but it happens so often. It's like as soon as he comes up against the full back he freezes and has no idea what to do, so he either just plays a terrible pass like that or runs around a bit and then plays it five yards back or to the side. With his pace he should surely be looking to attack the full backs and create goalscoring opportunites for us. Willian is one of the worst finishers and one of least creative players in the squad. It really isn't good enough for a winger who is in a side that is challenging for titles. I really hope Cuadrado is capable of getting some goals and assists because we have spent a hell of a lot of money on wingers in the last few seasons and they don't seem to be delivering in the attack. I know it's a bit of a rant but he is one very frustrating player to watch. I feel like i am constantly waiting for something to happen when he is on the ball but that something never happens. The goals are drying up and it's time for Willian and some of the other midfielders to step up and start getting us some goals. Hazard, Diego Costa, and Ivanovic can't score them all. I think he's just one of those players who elicits frustration. He looks fast, but he rarely beats his man for pace, he looks like he's got a great shot but he doesn't score goals consistently and he plays some great cross-field balls but doesn't get assists. It's not even like you can say that he's a young player and end-product and consistency will come in time because he's not. The shot was annoying because it just lacked conviction but that pass through for Fabregas was just sloppy and once again, killed our momentum going forward. So rant away because we've all been there with him I'm sure. Edited March 5, 201511 yr by Blue Daze
March 5, 201511 yr We really need to hope Cuardrado has the goals and assists in his game other wise it's about £60 million spend on the right wing for players who can't score

Zouma, Cech, Courtois, Ivanovic, Terry, Matic, Diego Costa, Hazard, Azpilicueta, they have all got tons of praise.
March 5, 201511 yr No we don't. Zouma, Cech, Courtois, Ivanovic, Terry, Matic, Diego Costa, Hazard, Azpilicueta, they have all got tons of praise. Not bad out of a squad of 20 odd I suppose lol. It depends on whose the flavour of the month, not long ago Ivan was getting slated and in places still does. And the whingers are slowly coming out for Costa as well.
March 5, 201511 yr We really need to hope Cuardrado has the goals and assists in his game other wise it's about £60 million spend on the right wing for players who can't score pretty sure we just sold a right-winger who scored plenty! schurrle was a goalscoring winger, and was second fiddle to more of an all-rounder. seems like goals isnt what Mourinhos looking for, but balance instead

Schurrle was never shy of shooting but his general play at times was poor that's why he was sold.

March 12, 201511 yr Frightening to think he cost basically the same as Sanchez. Effort and work rate can't be questioned, quality and decision making though are lacking big time.
March 12, 201511 yr To be fair it was a typical Willian performance, that's the thing, he didn't necessarily play bad, he just did what Willian usually does, didn't really give the ball away but again did absolutely nothing to get the game going made it just about as slow as it already was. I think that's why we need a bigger squad, more flair, Cuadrado is taking more time than we first expected, I don't have an issue with that, I just hope we get what we paid for with him. But I think maybe we can look into the summer for more flair? It is just one game but we have to also remember that some of our performances in 2015 have been very stale.
March 12, 201511 yr He loves doing that step over that never fools anyone. Gets ball. Runs to edge of 18 yard box. Stands still. Step over, step over.... Step over.... Drops shoulder. Passes 3 yards to Ivanovic.
March 13, 201511 yr Still don't know why we wasted 30 million. We have been making some stinkers in the transfer market, although it's ironed out with some brilliant signings. I'm starting to think we need some new scouts, as the guys we currently have aren't much use. Edited March 13, 201511 yr by enigma

I'm starting to think we need some new scouts, as the guys we currently have aren't much use. We have a fantastic scouting network. That scouting network unearthed the second best goalkeeper in the world for £7 million, De Bruyne, Lukaku, Oscar, Hazard (ok, not much scouting needed perhaps) and people like Hazard, Atsu, Traore etc. who will almost certainly net us a 10-digit profit.

Traore is another player who we don't know his true potential yet. I don't think our scouting network is fantastic, but it's probably above average. You know what I miss? The Africans we used to find. My god, I miss Essien, mikel when he first came on the scene, prime drogba, even geremi and kalou. We need another team with the English and African backbone in the side; true african warrior spirit!

Traore is another player who we don't know his true potential yet. I don't think our scouting network is fantastic, but it's probably above average. Just two of those players netted us a £20 million profit. That's not an easy thing to do. Courtois would probably make us £15 million, Mata made us £14 million, Luiz made us about £20 million, T. Hazard made us £5 million and you could probably add all that up and arrive at roughly the profit E.Hazard would net us if we cashed in. So yeah, above average. You know what I miss? The Africans we used to find. My god, I miss Essien, mikel when he first came on the scene, prime drogba, even geremi and kalou. We need another team with the English and African backbone in the side; true african warrior spirit! A backbone that disappears for a month every other year. No thanks. I don't care where the players come from, but I think we have possibly the greatest scouting network in Europe.
March 13, 201511 yr Scouting Network isn't the problem. We just don't give the players the chances to show their potential and class, we use it rather to make us money since our stadium size hinders us because it's far too small compared to the other top clubs in Europe. Players like Willian and Salah were identified because they played blinders against us IMO, so it was right in our face but the problem is neither have done the same for us since they came in. We will no doubt make a good few million in the summer on guys like Marin, Moses, Atsu and a few others. I suppose this is going to be the plan until we can expand our stadium and increase out revenue.

March 13, 201511 yr That is most certainly an issue and the club has worked tremendously to keep ticket prices down but how long can we keep doing it for? Yeah something has to give on that front soon, we have just got a new sponsorship deal which might help us for the next few years. We really do need to get a final decision on what we do regarding the Bride though, we are not even in the top 6 sides in England stadium size wise while we are aiming to be the number 1 club there while other clubs like Spuds and Liverpool are going to be moving into 50-60k stadiums pretty soon.

I expect there will be news before year's end. The issues are with egress and plot size so there's been investigations into alternative methods of leaving the ground, possibly to the north-east I believe and ways of both fitting a stadium into the current plot size and actually building it. However we do it will be unconventional and will mean a very distinctive stadium design which is good for those who hate 'bowls'. Still shed a tear on the train past Battersea Power Station though.

Every club makes bad signings or signings that are overpriced. Would you rather we bought Ashley Young,Bebe,Zaha,Fellaini,Di Maria,Jones,Smalling,Herrera and let Pogba go for free?. What about buying Jovetic,Mangala,Rodwell,Navas,Fernando,Sinclair,Fernandinho,Milner?. We done well in the market and have players now we can sell and make a profit on.
March 13, 201511 yr Im beginning to wonder if we placed a premium on replacing Luiz's afro. If so, does Cuadrado's hair mean that Willian could be gone in the summer? I'm not about speculation like you guys, I only deal with cold hard facts. It's hair dictating our current transfer policy....damn Malouda effect.
March 13, 201511 yr Nearing the end of his 2nd season and I don't think anyone could honestly say he's been worth £30m so far. I am confident that had Jose given more trust to Mata and De Bruyne we would be doing if not the at least the same, then better in our overall performances. They would have given us more of a cutting edge. The reason we have dropped points on various occasions this season has been not so much our defending, but our inability to finish teams off. Going into the last 10 minuts only 0-1 down gives the team more hope that if they keep going they will get something, if we had more quality in our own attack and scored 2 or 3 goals, then the game would be over. If we throw away the PL, I think Jose will have some real questions to answer about some of his transfers (Mata, De Bruyne, Willian, Salah, Cuadrado, Remy (why sign him if he never plays?) ,etc... and chosen playing style.
