Azpi did put the ball into the box for our late equalizer on Saturday.

That said, I do agree with some of this. Not sure either Moses or Zappa are the answer as I don't really rate either but there is no question, Azpi's form has dipped of late. He set such high standards and we are used to him always being reliable and a 7 - 8/10 every game but he has struggled of late. And I'm not sure he is skipper material either. Let's face it, JT is impossible to follow and it made sense to go with Cahill when he was playing but I think Azpi is too quiet and I have to agree, right now Luiz or Rudiger seem to have a bit more about them captain wise.

Not only that, but he is also being quite selective of the usage of the power the badge gives him. the way he reacted to Mata interception, trying to break his leg was unacceptable. Really? Smiles and hugs?  Five minutes earlier, he was extremely annoyed by Pogba or Martial and made a gesture with the ball. He is also the only one that is getting along with Morata and another verifiable fact - somehow he never manages to make a good cross to Giroud...it's always short, or long, or he isn't even there.. 

Also, he is the only one in that team that is pretending for every single throw. What, does he play for Arsenal, to raise his hands before even the ball is out? the captain should be a respectable person, not a clown like Nacho Montreal. 

Azpilicueta is one of the worst captains that this club has ever had.

He did kick him in the arse to be fair...

Every team that plays with wing backs will go for him. He showed what he can do in this position.

Understandable wish to leave, he doesn't have a place in our current system and team. Especially when we have CHO growing up.

You seem to think that professional footballers are, for the most part, as tribal and bigoted as the average fan.  They are not. They are just doing their job.  Sometimes you get pissed off, and sometimes your mate cocks something up.  Yes, there are hatreds and rivalries between some players, and there always have been, but, for the most part, they get on apart from when playing.

Do you really think that none of the Chelsea players should be allowed to socialise outside of football with any player from any other team?

What on earth are you rambling on about, every single player in the world claims throw ins. To say he's our worst ever captain based on nonsense like that is embarrassing and childlike..

As for the crossing thing, if you honestly believe that then you are an idiot, and that most definitely is verifiable.

No, not in Chelsea, no. And I was proud of the team for not being like Arsenal's bunch of crybabies. And there is our captain, claiming and shouting his lungs for a throw every fokng time. 

 

I find it very hard to stomach anybody criticising Azpilicueta that harshly. This is a guy who has been in our top 3 most consistent players every season since he joined the club, he is one player who doesn't deserve the "worst captain ever" tag. I also think his so called poor performances have been a bit over blown. He started the season a bit shaky, but he's been fine for the last month.

Dave has been one of our best value for money players of the last 20 years! However, as great as he's been and as sad as it is, he's  player that's just gone over onto the downward curve. He'd never come close to that level before or since.  If we're going to catch City and Liverpool, this is a position we need an upgrade on.

Would rather sell Zappacosta and keep Moses as a back up RB. Was never going to fit back at RW but could do a job a RB when needed.

So that's Azpilicueta AND Kante you think we should sell.  You ever thought of applying to Match of the Day for a pundit's job?  You seem to have a cracking knowledge of the game and an obviously detailed understanding of football at every level.

He has been our best defender for 5 years and some stupid people think he needs to be dropped based on a couple of poor performances. He is our hardest worker along with Kante and he sets a good example both on and off the pitch.

I for one am proud to see him as our captain and look forward to the day i see him lift the Premier League trophy as captain.

Not denying the fact that Azpi has been class but that doesn't make him exempt from being dropped due to past performances.

To stay on the Victor side of things: Agreed unfortunately for him he inst quite good enough as and out and out winger or right back at the highest level to warrant getting into the current formation, but as a wing back he seems to have found his spot.

I don't think any sensible person is saying that, but, equally, I don't think any sensible person is saying that his performances this season have been so bad as to warrant being dropped, let alone f**king sold FFS.

 

I'm not so sure. I have a theory (that is mine) that Dave's form has been seriously effected and it is due to the fact he is unhappy at no longer having the longest / weirdest surname in the squad.

Not sure if he can come back from this TBH.

 

Suspect Azpi might be realising that he prefers playing RCB than RB, the question is though would he move to play RCB again?

Is Moses injured or anything? 

Did he travel with the squad for last night's game? 

Starting to look like he's been frozen out by Sarri, a January move is starting to look more and more likely at the moment. 

Last game i saw him at Stamford bridge. He was absolutely terrible. Gave the ball away every time against a weak opposition.
