Diego Costa to Chelsea

Featured Replies

Cheap yellow card once again for Costa yesterday.

I think that there was possibly some intent with his arm but how often do we see players jumping with their elbows and it going unpunished?

He's had three bookings as a result of character assassination.

Hopefully Drogba or Remy are up to the task of filling in for him.

Bit of a catch22 with Costa. He's an ugly, nasty bar steward which is part of what makes him good and gets under defenders skin. However this will go hand in hand with getting more bookings.

As far as yesterday's trailing arm goes I can't say if he meant it or not, the refs opinion was that he did so had to book him. As far as his reaction to the O'Shea tackle goes that was a booking all day long so he got away with that.

My own opinion of him is that he was a necessary addition to the team and something we have been badly missing. I still think he's a bit of a prick.

Thought the kick out was worse than the arm across the face those generally aren't even given as free kicks a lot of the time let alone a yellow card.

Difference is, he's our prick.

He gets to rest to go face Newcastle, can rest for Hull by missing the sporting game, then miss Derby etc.

Might prove good for him.

If remy and the drog cannot help us beat spurs at home we have no businesses being in this title chase.

Sunderland tried to wind him up on every occasions, he almost cross the line and get a lengthy ban, good call for Jose to took him off in the dying minutes ( should have been earlier). Just my view, O'Shea should have seen red for 2 clumsy challenges before Costa's departure.

To be totally honest, he was lucky not to be sent off during the game. He did ride his luck on a number of times during the game.

Its just something we have to accept from him.

I'd like to see Remy given a chance against Spurs.

Costa was a lucky boy with that lash out, didn't miss O'sheas face by that much, just imagine the furore if he had connected, might as well of trooped off back to Brazil, he'd of got hammered, but that and Matic' have added much needed steel and have turned us into a team with a lot more Bite, loving it at the moment...

O'Shea knew it too. Note how he quickly ran off when the ref came over to deal with one of the Costa incidents.

That shouldn't make a difference. I'll support my team's players but not unquestionably. Having said that, I don't actually think he is a prick.

He could have got sent off against Sunderland though, he did try and kick O'Shea.

I can't even be mad for him missing the next game (even though he probably did deserve the two yellows) just because i love his attitude soooo fecking much! Every time he gets angry, i love it, and love the reactions of the opposition players as they walk away with their tails between their legs; even the refs don't know how to react to him.

A bit of goal drought, but we have seen a lot worse in the past few years. Personally, I felt he's a bit slow in recent games, just a yard short of where he wants to be in front of goals. i guess that's the reason why Jose played him again tonight to get the feeling back.

Not sure what's going on with Costa but Jose claims he needs to find his full fitness levels again. I think despite a few weeks without a goal he still looks dangerous up front in comparison to Torres who was nowhere to be seen when he was playing for us!

I sense he's going to score a truckload of goals in one of these next games. Maybe it will be against Hull for all I know.

His fitness seems shot to pieces, with that goes the touch and his deadliness. It might take him another week or two to get back to his usual self.

Bit worried that he's been found out, started with a bang then slowed down.

Hopefully not as he's an extremely good player.

He looked sluggish in the first half but I thought he grew into the game as it went on.... Looked desperate for a goal and was always demanding the ball to feet in and around the area.

Okay not his best game but you still wouldn't have put it past him to pop up with a goal.

Thought he played well tbh, started like he was going through the motions but grew into the game more as it went on.

The goals will return, surprised he never took the pen last night tbh.
